If it's true that [sp]Susan[/sp] is returning I'd really hope they have [sp]her regenerate to a younger body and become a recurring character again.[/sp]
Risked going 48 hours without a post, so I feel I should say something profound. Nothing comes to mind.
I briefly thought you were dead Actually if any of you don't post for about a week I will officially mourn you. [editline]30th May 2013[/editline]
If it's true that [sp]Susan[/sp] is returning I'd really hope they have [sp]her regenerate to a younger body and become a recurring character again.[/sp]
I was thinking this morning (literally the first thought when I opened my eyes). Donna was an "older companion". If we were to have a future "older companion" why couldn't it be a past companion returning to travel with The Doctor. It's a dynamic that has never been done before. I'm sure we all wanted to Sarah Jane to go with The Doctor at the end of School Reunion. So I like that idea.
If it's true that [sp]Susan[/sp] is returning I'd really hope they have [sp]her regenerate to a younger body and become a recurring character again.[/sp]
Wouldn't [sp]Gallifrey[/sp] need to come back first? If I recall the Doctor [sp]can't travel there in the past or future because it's in the timelock and all.[/sp]
Wouldn't [sp]Gallifrey[/sp] need to come back first? If I recall the Doctor [sp]can't travel there in the past or future because it's in the timelock and all.[/sp]
Last we saw [sp]Susan, she wasn't on Gallifrey[/sp]. It wouldn't matter anyway. Lots of different sources are saying [sp]Gallifrey makes an appearance. Though it could just be a time-war flashback[/sp]. [editline]30th May 2013[/editline] Oh my god wait. What if [sp]In the Time War flashback we see HurtDoctor and Susan? HurtDoctor promises he'll come back for her and then goes and uses The Moment to destroy Gallifrey in a blaze of fire and then timelocks it. But doesn't get back to Susan in time and has accidentally killed her. That would be a reason to feel pretty awful about The Time War. Then HurtDoctor goes back and warns HartnellDoctor he will kill everybody he cares for if he doesn't leave Gallifrey and keep running. Then cut to the shot of The Doctor and Susan stealing the TARDIS with HurtDoctor watching in the shadows.[/sp]
Gave me goosebumps, Dan. Write for Who, man.
moffat would probably just fuck it up and make [sp]susan[/sp] be a love interest for no real reason or he'd make her be river song's daughter or something equally as horrid
is it me or does patrick troughton look like leonard nimoy
moffat would probably just fuck it up and make [sp]susan[/sp] be a love interest for no real reason or he'd make her be river song's daughter or something equally as horrid
You do realize [sp]Susan is the Doctors granddaughter, right?[/sp] Moffat might be batshit insane but he's not THAT dumb.
is it me or does patrick troughton look like leonard nimoy
He's slightly more handsome than Leonard. I can kinda see where you're coming from. Nimoy looks a bit like a caricature of Patrick Troughton. It's like an American and British version of the same face. If you get what I mean. You can just tell from looking at them the nationality. [editline]30th May 2013[/editline] New stuff from the same source as above about the 50th: - [sp]In the original NOTD script, the reveal at the end was Omega[/sp] - [sp]In the original 50th script. 9 had a "so you're my replacements?" line.[/sp] - [sp]He says to take this one with a pinch of salt but apparently the original big bad was 9. He was an angry and broken Doctor fuelled by rage during the Time War. The Doctors had to stop him doing something terrible. At the end he redeems himself and goes on to meet Rose. Omega was present in the Time War in a minor role. When Chris dropped out 2 weeks before filming everything changed. Moffat (who hadn't finished the script) reworked it to make Omega the main bad and Hurt as a forgotten Doctor. Hurt gladly accepted the role of The Doctor as it was a one off[/sp] - Due to argument it's looking less likely Series 8 will film in September. - Part of the negotiations with Moffat include a January 1st Special. Rumbles say it includes the return of [sp]The Master as played by John Simm[/sp]. - The press may try to keep the [sp]Matt-leaving[/sp] thing a secret until it happens. It will not be marketed and will be a surprise.

Brian Minchin:
My main job now is staring in awe at the 50th Anniversary Special and wondering ‘How the hell do we follow on from that?! Then, when I stop gawping and wondering, ‘How did they do that bit, and that one, and that bit!’ I will start work on the Christmas episode, written by Steven Moffat himself. Asked what fans can look forward to next year he said: “A whole new series! But we certainly won’t be releasing the details of that series right now in May 2013. Oh dear, that sounds mean! Well, I can tell you that I have just spent a very happy few days meeting some scarily clever writers, and we have an incredible set of stories to work on. More adventures ahead!”
For fun, Moffat's Interview He Wants us to Forget:
There’s 24 of them a year. That’s too bloody many. I’ve never wanted 24 new Doctor Who adventures a year. Six was a perfectly good number.
2012 was a perfectly good year for Moffat-Who, then.
"Six was a perfectly good number" For books. TV not so. Brian sounds nice. [editline]30th May 2013[/editline]
What could have been :( I'm really gutted that [sp]Chris isn't returning. He's still my favourite.[/sp]
Not sure 100% on the reason why. Some say it's down to the script not being finished in time. Some say it's down to him not being allowed to see the script (which would make sense if it wasn't finished). Some say upon not being shown a script, a certain member of the production team really goofed up negotiations and was rude to him. She no longer works on Doctor Who after Moffat gave her a bollocking in public. "YOU WILL NEVER WORK IN DOCTOR WHO AGAIN".
You do realize [sp]Susan is the Doctors granddaughter, right?[/sp] Moffat might be batshit insane but he's not THAT dumb.
yeah that was the idea, he'd retcon it and make it something horrible
Jon Petwee is a gent [editline]30th May 2013[/editline] By the way. Jon Pertwees cousin, Bill Pertwee, passed away Monday. Best known for his work on Dad's Army.
TIL the guy from dads army is related to Jon.

jesus christ dan for a second i thought you meant the 50th special wasn't happening like this was all some gigantic fever dream
Haha oh my bad. Sorry. That's happening, it's all filmed. If it ends up being a disappointment or not. Who knows. The general consensus from those "in the know" is it's a good episode that doesn't really stand out as a celebration of 50 years. Knowing me, I will watch it and the violently defend it as the greatest anniversary episode to ever happen and plaster my walls in posters and talk to everybody about it until they stop being my friend.
Why does Chris not like DW? In some interview I remember seeing he didn't even keep up with the series after he left and his general consensus is not to be a part of it. Maybe he's one of those people who doesn't want DW to define his role as an actor.

Maybe he's one of those people who doesn't want DW to define his role as an actor.
It was just a job, man. He was bullied on set and didn't get along with people on the crew and cast. There were stories Barrowman once streaked on set. Everybody laughed by Chris stormed off. He felt a lot of the people in the higher-up positions were rude to the crew and Chris wasn't going to stand for it. There's a reason the guy that directed Rose hasn't been back since. He never watched the show before he was in it, while he was in it, or after he was in it. Tom Baker and Paul McGann are the same.
There's a reason the guy that directed Rose hasn't been back since.
Is there a source for this?
It's always rumbles. But the rumour was him and Chris really didn't get on and Chris left. "Oh I wonder what will happen if I climb over this barrier and hang by my umbrella- oh" [editline]30th May 2013[/editline] I can't link to this as it's on Gallifrey Base (which is private) but take a look at this: Some dude painted this back when there were 7 Doctors and for the 50th he wants to do a new one. But instead of painting he's working on a 3D render. [img_thumb]http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/7682/7thtest01.jpg[/img_thumb] I look foward to seeing how this turns out. I'll keep you posted. Would like to know the details of that, though.
But instead of painting he's working on a 3D render. He says he'll give them over to UDK developers when he's done. Hopefully it wouldn't be too hard for them to make the jump to Source.
ANOTHER Doctor Who leak BBC emailed a bunch of staff (including Ian Levine who tweeted about it) details about next year. The email said: -Late august 2014 start date for series 8 -12 episodes -[sp]New Doctor[/sp]
