Can he even be funny anymore?
I think we all need to take a deep breath and relax in anticipation for the 50th.

BBC emailed a bunch of staff (including Ian Levine who tweeted about it) details about next year.

Another massive balls-up at the BBC.

There's a funny sketch in Extras where Ricky's character is a monster in Doctor Who. I can't find it now it seems to have been removed from the net but that's a picture of Ricky in costume. The clip stared David Tenannt in costume as The Doctor doing a fairly typical performance. I think he threw salt on the slug monster in the end. It looked like Nu-Who if it had been made in the 80s with cheap sets, effects, and monsters. But David Tennant.
I like Ricky.
Another massive balls-up at the BBC.
I don't think the press will be reporting on it. Apparently they already know and have for months that [sp]Matt is leaving[/sp] I think it has an embargo.

I've heard a rumour he was one of the actors on a short list. Not sure how much truth is in that. But all the other actors who were at auditions were around his age. That 40/50 mark.
i dont think i could take him seriously as the doctor, i know him as house and i associate him with a british accent with comedy so its kinda hard
i associate him with a british accent with comedy so its kinda hard
Apart from the last three and the first two. All Doctors have been known as comedy actors.
And they've all had British accents.
I want Ben Daniels.
We all want Ben Daniels now
I think that's my fault. So in advance, sorry everybody if I'm wrong.
EDIT:
Just skimmed through an old thread from years ago and most of us here have been posting for years and we should all be ashamed.
Also a few of you were really angry about Torchwood Miracle Day. Like Torchwood was every the pinnacle of good TV.

Because it's not like the 11 previous Doctors have british accents
I'd love to see a black guy as the next doctor. Or a female? :d Although the amount of nuclear heat BBC would get from pulling such a move would be insane.
God we need these in Gmod.
And Source Filmmaker. With proper faceposing. Oh my god I would have so much fun

Well Miracle Day was kind of shit
The following tale is true. And by true, I mean false. It’s all lies. But they’re entertaining lies, and in the end, isn’t that the real truth? The answer…is no.

Dan's leaks, the early years.
I was right about the time bit! We had young and old Amelia.
I think the rest I took from a single on set photo. I was 17 and stupid.
One thing I do remember is somebody here, when the first picture of Matt and the new giant blue TARDIS appeared, posted "Oh great. Doctor Cunt and the technicolor TARDIS". It made me laugh a fair bit.
We were all quite cynical.
Somebody else here posted a quote of me in here a while back which was my 17 year old self speculating about what will happen when David Tennant leaves. Some weird bull about him turning out to not be The Doctor and Matt Smith is the real 9th Doctor.
My leaks are good now :tinfoil:

Yeah but me, Grizz, and a few who don't post anymore were at least somewhat optimistic.
I'll never forget THAT episode of Miracle Day that just went on forever and was largely uncomfortable to watch.
Moffat has the 50th covered :v:
This is the same man who said "nobody has guessed what happens in the final 5 minutes yet!" about Name of the Doctor.
When it had been out there for months.

Two more sources are claiming that know reliable people who have told them classic episodes have been found.
One said Evil of the Daleks and The Tenth Planet were found a while back.
Somebody else says Marco Polo, Enemy of the World, and Web of Fear have been found. In Africa. The same episodes somebody said were set to be in a box set by the end of the year.
Apparently another guy who was in an email chain by accident some point last year, claims 100's of episodes were found. Maybe all missing episodes. But he suddenly vanished from Twitter.
Finally the BBC said 'nothing has been returned to the BBC'. So this disproves it all right?
No.
Paul Vanezis posted on a forum the other day warning people to stop spreading rumours about missing episodes as it may "ruin negotiations".
The rumour is a bunch of classic episodes have been found in Africa. BBC hasn't announced it because they haven't got them yet. The people who have them are quite hard to strike a deal with. If it goes well we will have considerably less lost episodes. If it goes wrong we might lose them forever.
I liked the idea of miracle day until "oooh conspiracy family running everything"

It felt like one of those shows that you'd find on the Syfy channel.

No all the producers have said The Master is Simms role and Simm has been quite vocal (specially recently) about how much he likes the role.
I dream of the day Gallifrey returns and The Master is Lord President.
I want Gallifrey back as a culture to enchance the viewing experience, but I don't want dreary writing or timey-wimey convoluted plots to evolve from such a thing.
[editline]31st May 2013[/editline]
Properly back. Like, it'd be a lot more emotionally interesting because of the Doctor's views towards it and the Time Lords and there's potential for new reincarnations of old Time Lords that'd be really great. But then you'd have to forego all the mystery and potential intensity of the Time War, so it's win-lose.

Five years of River Song.
I'm sick of River Song. I have never liked the character.
here's to 5 more years of her being shoehorned into everything
Moffat's version of The Rani that the producers sadly never nipped in the bud
