http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2009/01_january/03/who.shtml 3rd January 2009 is the earliest I can find. And we got this picture:
Hopefully we will find out soon then!
Funny , no one is asking why Matt is leaving nor why he didn't make the announcement himself. You'd almost think the statement was 2005 all over again. And my " prediction" on the Xmas special? It will be a recap at the start . I honestly don't think he's doing it. Happy to be wrong. I'd say a regen will be tacked into the end of the 50th. Well the statement did say his last appearance would be in it, still called twelvth night . It didn't say how much of it he would be in.
- Reliable source. (First to say Matt was leaving at Christmas, first to say Ben Daniels has the part, revealed the entirety of TNOTD before anybody else). Make of it what you will. [editline]3rd June 2013[/editline] Has anybody read Assimilation²? Is it any good? I love Doctor Who and Star Trek The Next Generation so might check it out. Places are describing it as an "official crossover". [editline]3rd June 2013[/editline] It's even got The Fourth Doctor in it. Jesus it sounds like a dream I had once.
I'm going to buy the 'Dr. Who and the Daleks' blu-ray as the quality and frame rate will be better and it will look nicer.

The last mention I saw of it was in Doctor Who-related news posts in the news subforums. People were apparently accusing it of being needless geek-pandering or something. I got the impression they see it no better than standard crossover fanfiction.
Did you just call a Doctor Who/Star Trek crossover "geek pandering"? Why not call water wet while you're at it. :rolleye:
Did you just call a Doctor Who/Star Trek crossover "geek pandering"? Why not call water wet while you're at it. :rolleye:
Well, that's what I recall some Facepunchers whining about up in the news forums a while back. But this is Facepunch we're talking about. You always have some group of people complaining about things. It seems most of the Sensationalist Headline crowd prefer the 9th Doctor most of the time, anyways.
Radiotimes are saying Steven Moffat has signing on for another year. And the next Doctor will be officially announced next month otherwise he will be seen filming the Christmas special anyway. Which is interesting because usually the regeneration is a studio scene kept under wraps. The new Doctor does no location filming at all. This could mean the rumours Matt has only a minor role in the Christmas special (or possibly no role beyond flashback) are true.
Radiotimes are saying Steven Moffat has signing on for another year.
What was their source? The BBC press release confirming it?
New Doctor (Ben Daniels) apparently is going to be revealed next month I wonder who it is
What was their source? The BBC press release confirming it?
I assume they mean in addition to that. I've really lost faith in RT after the shitty Simm interview he claimed never happened. Plus posting the Matt Smith interview where he says "I'm attached for the next year" 6 months after it was conducted made Matt look like a liar. [editline]3rd June 2013[/editline]
New Doctor (Ben Daniels) apparently is going to be revealed next month I wonder who it is
Ben Daniels could be the Patterson Joseph of his time. Don't be so sure until it's official.
I just want Matt to have a regeneration scene ;_;
there's no way he won't have one
The main thing I'm hoping for at the moment is that the Regeneration box set comes with a free slot to put the DVD of Matt's last episode when it comes out Also I was looking at some Doctor Who action figures and I came across this: do you see that do you fucking see that thing in the top left
Everything you could do wrong with an episode of Doctor Who was Love and Monsters. Peter Kay has never been so out of place, awful, and vilified by the public. That's saying something too.
Her mouth should be in an "O" shape ;)
Wait a second. Why is Twelfth night a working title if John Hurt is a missing Doctor? Shouldn't it be Thirteenth night? [editline]3rd June 2013[/editline] I guess Hurt Doctor won't be forgiven for his sins at the end of the episode? Or the Twelfth Night is a lie.
Also I was looking at some Doctor Who action figures and I came across this:
Seems like a professional looking custom. I've never seen that on Ebay before and the website you got it from doesn't seem to have it in its actual list.

Yeah like I said. He isn't forgiven, so continues to be a secret.
Put a £10 bet on Ben Daniels should be easy money at 7/1 odds
I wouldn't put a bet on it. It seems too good to be true.
Couldn't Moffet just yenno place a bet
Couldn't Moffet just yenno place a bet
No, Moffat would not be allowed. If he was found out it'd be cheating and essentially fraud. After he guessed the lottery numbers Derren Brown was banned from playing the lottery. Not sure if that still goes on.
Dan you should write christmas carols "On the Twelfth Night of Christ- wait no thats wrong, there's 13 doctors, on the Thirteenfth Night of Christmas, Moffat gave to me, Ben Daniels in a pear tree. And then everybody died, and the universe had to be rebooted."
I just realized that the tumblr/twitter/facebook girls and boys that say that the Doctor gets younger each renegeration (Younger Actors), are even more idiotic than I thought. If the Doctor keeps getting younger, we will see him as a baby.
For people uneducated in old DW, yeah it does make sense. Chris looks in his 40s, David in his 30s, and Matt in his 20s (although he looks closer to 30 by the end of all this). Teenage Doctor Who GO
I love the first Doctor, While Ian and Barbra nearly get killed by Aztecs he is talking to a local, bonding and staying out of trouble, also not to mention he getting engaged to her. Also Susan is learning about the culture and stuff, basically the same as the Doctor, and also getting engaged.
