I think I'd prefer something similar to
Beyond the singing, most of the score for The Rings of Akhaten is gorgeous.
i liked the singing >:(
So did I. But the rest of the episode is overlooked as a result.
I want someone kinda scruffy for the next doctor kinda rough around the edges and not so clean the last two doctors have been very clean

I want someone like the 3rd Doctor.
Chris O'Dowd would make a great doctor in my opinion. [editline]June 9th 2013[/editline] Or Richard Ayoade.

For the second month running Doctor Who was the most requested programme on the BBC iPlayer
Doctor Who is timeshifted far more than most BBC programmes. Around 62% of the audience watch Live or within one day, compared with the BBC average of 87% watching Live. Around 23% of the viewers timeshift using a PVR compared with the BBC average of 6%, while 11% now watch via the iPlayer, compared with the BBC average of 2%.
Link
Doctor Who is the most time shifted programme. If any show is going to be time shifted, obviously the one about time travel.
Rick Gervais denied on Twitter he is the 12th Doctor Then posted this I post too much
Is it bad that I want Steven Merchant to be the Twelfth Doctor after seeing that? [editline]9th June 2013[/editline] Oh my Jesus, Wheatley as the Doctor.
Chris O'Dowd would make a great doctor in my opinion.
He did full frontal nudity in The Crimson Petal and the White, his flaccid penis hanging down under a Victorian nightshirt. I can't help remembering this rather unattractive image every time I see him on TV
The Telegraph are claiming that Rory Kinnear has been offered the part: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/10108234/BBC-asks-James-Bond-star-to-be-its-new-Doctor-Who.html Obviously take with a large pinch of salt for now, though I think I'd be pleased if it did turn out to be him, he seems like a decent actor.
He was great in Black Mirror - [sp]the one where the PM has to fuck a pig[/sp]
He was great in Black Mirror - [sp]the one where the PM has to fuck a pig[/sp]
Maybe his first act as the Doctor is to go back in time and prevent himself from fucking that pig.
Maybe the artist who did the whole pig setup is the Hurt Doctor
If it's Rory Kinnear, when he regenerates he can feel his head and say "bald, I always wanted to be bald" He does have the acting chops required in my opinion, maybe could be a good choice?
"We can confirm that Mark Gatiss (pictured as Professor Lazarus in 'The Lazarus Experiment') will be..." Almost had a heart-attack scrolling through the Facebook newsfeed "...attending Comic Con Paris - bringing with him an exciting piece of Doctor Who set… "
Surely slightly too big a name for the role? Would like it if true though.
That was really nice I hope Matt gets a send off like that

The Proclaimers are David's favourite band ever, so that's why they did. Matt is the same about Radiohead, so that might be a bit more tricky.
Despite being used for Melody's regeneration, I can see this as a contender for 11.
Are you implying that they won't write a new song for 11's regeneration?
Are you implying that they won't write a new song for 11's regeneration?
They didn't for 10. It was just a hugely done-up version of the ninth and tenth doctor's theme. Which leads me to believe 11's swan song will be some huge, swooping orchestral version of I Am The Doctor.
How about a sick guitar solo which leads into a thrashing death metal cover of Frank Sinatra's My Way? Eleven beheads a bird with his teeth and screams "FUCK YOU ALL" before topping himself. I think that's in character yet pleasantly unexpected.
Are you implying that they won't write a new song for 11's regeneration?
If it isn't I Am The Doctor or something from the S6 arc, I'll be very surprised. But I would settle for something completely subtle. I'll still take the 9-10 regeneration over 10-11... and there was little fuss with the music. It was lovely.
