I'm hoping the 50th anniversary special and Matt's regeneration will increase interest in the show enough to give it enough momentum to survive Moffat's reign.
(loads of gifs) I think I love 9 too much :v:
what the hell is the point in making animated gifs that are like 3 frames long why not just make it a picture
Man, I hope doctor who survives its stint with moffat at the reins I really dont want to say he's running it into the ground but he really is
I think 1 more series would be enough from him anyway. I'm tired of his recurring themes. That will be about 5 years in-charge. No more than that is needed.
Jesus has it really been that long?
After the 2014 Christmas special Moffat would've been about for 1 week off 5 years. But it doesn't feel like 5 years because there's been considerably less content [editline]13th June 2013[/editline] The rumour is Tenth Planet Episode 4 (which was recently animated as it has been long lost) has been found and remastered and included in the Regenerations Box Set as a surprise to people when they buy it on release. Reviewers have been told to pretend it's the animated episode, not the real deal. I'll post again if I can find out more. Take with a pinch of salt. UPDATE: Blimey. This rumour started ages ago. Let me run down what happened so far first: - Rumours a huge batch of episodes had been found - Rumours that nearly all lost episode had been found - Rumours gained momentum - The Regenerations Box Set is announced - The guy incharge of Classic Who releases tells people in a fan forum to stop talking about the rumours as it could be dangerous to negotiations - A well in-touch source says a bunch were found in Africa - Another source is quick to point out the difference between "found" and "have". He recommends people stop talking about it. - People stop talking about it And now here's something new from Bleeding Cool:
We were promised lots for the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who. But half a season made last year, a one off special and the Christmas special have left some fans annoyed, disappointed and wanting more. Well, there’s a big rumour that they are getting it. And no, not just the Adventure In Time And Space making-of-the-first-episode drama. Nor the 50th Anniversary Convention. Nor the 50th Anniversary party hats. At least I think there will be hats. There should be hats. I’ve been hearing chatter about this particular rumour for some time. But it’s started to coalesce a little recently so I now feel more comfortable at least reporting on the rumour. I’m still missing anything remotely resembling proper details, such as a conformation from an official source, but still. And the rumour is that we may be getting a whole host of Doctor Who episodes. Not new ones, but episodes not seen anywhere since they were first broadcast. We all know that through a series of cock ups, incompetence and lack of forethought, swathes of episodes of Doctor Who from the sixties were wiped by the BBC. Some episodes were found again, some were sold to other countries, some kept in people’s loft space, but over a hundred episodes of the show were missing, along with episodes, entire series even, of many other BBC shows. What I’ve been hearing, and some of it is attributed to an eccentric engineer who worked for broadcasters across Africa with a taste for science fiction and a habit of taking things for “safe keeping”, is that the BBC have secured a large number of presumed-wiped episodes of early Doctor Who. And there are lots. Lots and lots. Completed serials that we’ve only had incomplete before, full series that nothing existed of. Not everything. But heaps and heaps. Possibly even The Full Hartnell. And come November, or before, we’ll get to see them. Now promises of this kind have been made many times before. Sometimes they’ve come true, sometimes they have now. But I’m told to expect, among others, a full Evil Of The Daleks from 1967. Up till now, the BBC only had the second of seven episodes, after that film was found in a car boot sale. There’s even the rumour that the much touted DVD set Regenerations out this month, with its previewed animation clip of the regeneration between the first and second Doctors is a bluff, and they now have the full The Tenth Planet in which the Doctor regenerated for the first time which will be released in this set. But that strikes me as wish-fulfillment too far. Would be very clever though. I’m going to cross my fingers for the next five months. You just never know. UPDATE: Shortly after posting, I received further confirmation of the details listed above from another, better connected source. I don’t think I need to cross my fingers quite so hard any more.
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/06/13/wqill-doctor-who-have-a-very-special-surprise-for-us-in-november/ Apparently it's about 60 episodes. The fact that Evil of the Daleks is among them... ..It makes me very excited.
I'd love to see Power of the Daleks returned and restored. And Celestial Toymaker And Daleks' Master Plan (especially the feast of steven) Hell, all of them
On the downside, Moffat's captaining skills on the SS Doctor Who seem to be suffering fast. On the bright side, rumors are strong about a motherload of lost episodes being found. And we still have the 50th to wait for. I sure as heck hope it's at least a fantastic tribute for all 50 years of this show's legacy.
Man, I hope doctor who survives its stint with moffat at the reins I really dont want to say he's running it into the ground but he really is
There's this underlying belief that Moffat is bigger than the show. He isn't. The idea that the BBC would be afraid to take action if the show was put in a bad way is utter bollocks. Now brighten up your day with some JLC. I always thought the music in Matt's era was new. Just realised the music when the Atraxi approach in the eleventh hour, is same in the runaway bride
I always thought the music in Matt's era was new. Just realised the music when the Atraxi approach in the eleventh hour, is same in the runaway bride
The climax music in Nightmare in Silver is from The Next Doctor. Except for some remashing with the Doctor Forever bit cut out. The first half of the next time trailer for Hide also uses a bit from Rose in Peril.
"There isn't going to be another Doctor. I'm being replaced with a helpline." Hugh Dennis on Mock the Week this evening [editline]13th June 2013[/editline] they did a whole "Things you wouldn't hear on Doctor Who" segment. Should be on iPlayer soon if you're in the UK
Neil Gaiman was just on Newsnight. Earlier today were rumours that the BBC was disappointed with scripts and production. Somebody said Neil himself was disappointed his script was given to a director who didn't really know what he was doing with it. Apparently everybody involved was bitterly disappointed with the final product. In the interview he more or less confirmed this. [editline]13th June 2013[/editline]
There's this underlying belief that Moffat is bigger than the show. He isn't. The idea that the BBC would be afraid to take action if the show was put in a bad way is utter bollocks. Now brighten up your day with some JLC.
Many leakers have come along to this with a response similar to "You'll be surprised how important Sherlock is to the BBC". He thinks he's bigger and the BBC is only stamping on him now, he's not liking it. Apparently the BBC isn't impressed with how the scripts have been delivering with the general public. While before there was an emotive response from the audience, it's gone a bit stale. It's lost the heart and has done for a long time. That's one thing I can't deny no matter how much I enjoy it. In other news I watched Empty Child/Doctor Dances today with a 10 year old who has never seen them. Was a right treat. It really feels like an entirely different show. Feels very different to even the later RTD years. I'd really like to go back to this idea of The Doctor being an adventurer, exploring time and space with a friend. Rather than an ancient god. I really dig Chris. It's amazing how much I have forgotten he put into his performance.
He always does and I have to agree, new doctor who is almost a soapie really
"Yea, Course I knew Matt Smith was leaving Doctor Who, I told him it was for the best, because once I got back into the TARDIS, I knew I wanted to come back, Not sure how they will write it up, but yea, it's me, am the new Doctor.........(smirks!) I'd love to, but am so busy right now, Broadchurch is back next year, I want to do Star Wars too, It was hard saying goodbye again, but it's been so much fun, I'm sure I'll be back at some point with Matt, and maybe one day, Chris too with the new Doctor, isn't it 10 years since the return of Doctor Who in 2015? *WINKS*"
- David Tenannt I hope some much for that bit in bold to be true in 2015. Honestly. Chris, David, Matt, 12. Dream come true. Dream come true. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile take a look at this guy. His name has been linked to the 50th. He has some kind of part. Yet it's not mentioned on his website. The GB user who posted this is purely speculating and doesn't believe it himself but here is an actor who is considerably successful on stage and has had minor TV roles. Isn't this more believable as your 12th Doctor than the big names? Looking at his website I remember seeing him do Romeo and Juliet with the RSC a few years ago, he was very good. I'd rather have an actor like this than a big name. I'll try and find out where this guy found him "linked to the 50th". But I honestly don't think we'll ever guess who 12 is. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbxq4hiemKY&list=UUMniRctSMOYUqxUk6aAenjg&index=1 Interesting. He never actually says if he is or isn't in line for it. They cut him off and he answers vague questions with direct answers. Just wishful thinking on my part, I really would like Dom.
Hmm, not a fan of that one. I kinda am weaning off normal looking people in business suits tbh I want someone kind of rough and scruffy
I hope it's Tom Baker too.
David tennant and matt smith had a similar vibe, I'd rather someone like chris eccleston this time around
Chris, David, Matt, 12. Dream come true. Dream come true.
If this happens, I'm done. I can die happily. Bonus points if they title it "The Last Doctors", as a vague reference to the titles of previous multi-Doctor stories.
guys we should follow the pattern with their names. Chris, David, and Matt, all very common names. I'm expecting William, Robert, or Jack. I was rooting for Ben because it matches tho
Dave Who
I would really have loved to see 11 lose his shit completely before Matt left. Like really just break down and spaz out. Maybe blow some shit up. He lost it a bit after Angels Take Manhattan but not nearly as much as he should have

I'm impressed. They watch the show, made references to Clara and The Doctor's current age. Chris Addison missed a trick by not coming out and saying "Hello I'm The Twelfth Doctor".
I love the Clara and 1200 references. Glad to know that Hugh and Andy watch the show. +Chris maybe for the Ood joke.
Hi @EricRoberts. How masterful of you to tweet.
- Paul McGann on Twitter What a joker.
That is such a forced pun, wow McGann.
You wouldn't happen to have a copy of the video saved on your computer, would you? Or, now that SFM is available for everyone and fully supported by Valve, perhaps you could make a brand new one.
Wish I did so I could see the mistakes I did in it. I've been meaning to redo it, though. Like I said I just need some particle effects. That was like 2 years ago, I've improved by leaps and bounds since then.
BBC have announced that iPlayer views will now count towards ratings starting in the autumn. This will give a healthy 2m boost to Doctor Who's ratings easy.
Can't wait for Ralph Fiennes to be the new Doctor.
