Matt came home for Fathers Day yesterday. Here's a picture of the big chin and his sister.

That will not be growing back in time for filming in about a months time.
Specially as it seems he's cut it again just as it was getting a bit longer. It's almost like he's trying to say "Fuck you Moffat, my contract is over", try your brand recognition now.
Unless... "The last time I saw you, the real you — the future you, I mean — you turned up on my doorstep, with a new haircut and a suit. You took me to Darillium to see the singing towers. Oh, what a night that was! The towers sang and you cried. You wouldn't tell me why, but I suppose you knew it was time. My time. Time to come to the Library. You even gave me your screwdriver; that should've been a clue."
Matt's going to start regenerating at the end of the 50th, I'm calling it now.
You already see him on his last day with river in one of the short webisode things.

wait what?
wait what?
Yep. Just before they go on their date. Which means this part already happened to the 11th. The 12th will only have good times with her.

I hope so, be a good cliffhanger to tie people into watching at Christmas.
But it will probably be Christmas.
Best case scenario: Matt regenerates near the start like McCoy/McGann
Average case scenario: We don't get one like McGann/Eccleston
Worst case scenario: Somebody in a wig like Baker/McCoy.
Let's just watch Dinosaurs on a Spaceship and Power of Three for the best Doctor Who dad, Brian.
Heh, Brian was the best.
Also, is there a "captioned" version of this .gif, with "abandon thread" or "that's it i'm out of here" on it?
Also also, Wilf was also fantastic.

How will they get away with the latter 2? Matt isn't leaving on bad terms and neither is anyone else... It'll be fine.
In other news I watched Empty Child/Doctor Dances today with a 10 year old who has never seen them. Was a right treat. It really feels like an entirely different show. Feels very different to even the later RTD years. I'd really like to go back to this idea of The Doctor being an adventurer, exploring time and space with a friend. Rather than an ancient god. I really dig Chris. It's amazing how much I have forgotten he put into his performance.
And this is why I prefer them now, I loved the adventure and it's exactly the point I'm on about.

Matt doesn't seem dickish enough to hold a grudge or anything, even if he fell out with whoever, he'd to it for the fans.

According to everybody who leaks stuff.
He's not leaving on good terms.
Jenna has now been cast as Lydia

oh good, i liked the direction in hide
Direction made Nightmare in Silver unwatchable. Hopefully Series 8 will see a return of the better more experienced directors. Jamie Payne being one of them.
When RTD left, so did a lot of veteran directors - Euros Lyn, Graeme Harper etc. The show hasn't really been able to find the best of replacements for them.
Yeah moffat alienates directors
don't you wish the director of 11th hour stayed to do more
When RTD left, so did a lot of veteran directors - Euros Lyn, Graeme Harper etc. The show hasn't really been able to find the best of replacements for them.
The directors made the RTD era for me, they were pretty good.
Wait is it wrong if i couldnt see anything different in nightmare in silverwhen compared to the rest?
Yeah. Even Gaiman was disappointed with it. I feel bad for him. Somebody who knows him said in the script it said "The Cybermen silently stalk the humans" and stuff. Infact the script makes a big deal about how the Cybermen make no noise as they walk and are stealth killing machines, which is why we have the scene they take out the soldiers with tactics and shadows.
Gaiman was just as shocked to see they still made clonking noises as everybody else. Briggs was surprised with the voice work too. He recorded new voices for the new Cybermen that was never used. The scene Angie is picked up is embarrassing, if the Cybermen weremoving so fast Angie should't have been able to throw a tantrum. And intro sequence which better explains the golden ticket and how The Doctor got it was also cut. It was all little things that could've been improved by direction.
The story was solid. But it looked like a fan production. Those leakers are saying the BBC began to start breathing down Moffats neck here. He isn't spreading the budget around fairly enough. His episodes look glorious. Everybody else gets shafted with cheap effects and work arrounds. I'm not sure if it's Skinner or Moffat but somebody should've looked at these scripts and said "too expensive, cut out or reduce the Ice Warrior ship, make the creature less like a 90's video game".
But nobody is. So it's got to the stage when Moffat wants money, instead of getting somebody to cut down scripts he drops the episode count. No new series this year? In the anniversary year? It's a bit mental isn't it. So is the reducing the amount of episodes next year. I hope the new producer reins it in. Funny how of all the producers the BBC pulls in, it just happens to be a friend of RTDs who worked with him on SJA and Torchwood.
I remember reading an article by someone interviewing Gaiman about the new Cyberman. Story goes, he got the idea for a ghostly, silent Cyberman because his first memory of the Cybermen were in Moonbase. When he was a young'un, he thought the Cybermen walked through the wall to get to the other room but it was just a bad angle for the camera. However, that was where the fear for them really came from. Not from the walking metal tin man. He wanted to use that fear, to stop them from being clunky as hell, and make them silent. Deadly. Something to be feared.
I then watched the episode and saw speedy Cybermen, clunkier and louder than ever.
A ship carrying 3 tons of "old films" was dispatched from Africa to Liverpool today. Rumour hounds say it's the Doctor Who episodes we've been hearing about.
A cargo boat coming from Africa to Liverpool also sank a few hours ago. Let's hope it's not this boat carrying our rumoured Doctor Who lost episodes.
Also another one has been looted by thieves.
[editline]19th June 2013[/editline]
Ian Levine (who leaked the Matt leaving email) tweeted to say he doesn;t believe the rumours.
He has since tweeted he has seen proof. 1000 reels of old tv from the BBC has been found. About 90 of which are episodes of Doctor Who. 21 previously broken episodes will now be available in complete form.
He is 100% reliable and has no reason to lie. He says this recovery process has been happening since 2011.
He says he's seen "3 tons" worth of proof.

The missing episode forum (there's a forum) has been closed with the reason:
And let this be the final, sensible remark on the matter. The only way this will be resolved is if the BBC decide to make a statement. They won't be doing that here, so if anyone wants to speculate about this ridiculous situation, you can do it elsewhere.
Paul
Why not just deny it? Why does the BBC have to make a statement?
[editline]19th June 2013[/editline]
Finally somebody on GB:
will throw in some rumour I had heard last year. (Just to fuel the fires, you see.)
Web of Fear was returned earlier last year, then later on Marco Polo + Enemy of the World, from the 'batch' of film records recovered. Paid for by BBC Cardiff. Caroline Skinner was responsible for negoicating the returns. The gentleman in question wants the BBC to purchase all 8'000 cans of films, the BBC are keen on cherry picking a handful. I would assume the DW ones and other historical films of note.
I heard this in connection to the GI returning to DW last year, and was very surprise when it did. Another friend at a convention told me around September, that after S7B had aired the BBC were planning on launching into a missing season broadcast on BBC2 or 3 of recovered material, starting with Web of Fear. I didn't think much of it, until I heard the 90 episode rumour around Octoberish.
So, yes more rumours. But I (at least in my mind) strongly believe the WoF, Enemy of the World, Marco Polo rumour to be the same as the 90 episode one.
You may now continue with scheduled hundreds of posts of 'it's not true/ it could be true/ the BBC should make an announcement/ Ian Levine'
Somebody asked the Doctor Who Online fan site about the three episodes that were found last year (mentioned in the quote above) and they said they "can't comment" on that rumour with a winky face.
Meanwhile some fans are speculating the BBC have got their hands on these episode in a naughty way. Impersonating an African company who archive 60's/70's TV, and then asking TV stations for their old film reels to see if they strike lucky. It's really getting surreal the amount of speculation.
Unless there's a major development, here is my final note on the whole thing:

Graeme Harper did that tram crash episode for Coronation Street, really good directing. I'd like him back. I also quite liked Euros Lyn.

He was easily the best director of Classic Who too. He took it seriously and tried to film with a single camera, perfecting every shot and frame. The result: Caves Of Androzani becomes the best regarded episode in Who history. Towards the end he ran out of time though and returned to Multi-cam but still cared for his actors. Compared to other directors of the time who just set up multiple cameras and hoped for the best with no discussion or rehearsal. He was a great director, both of them. Did what the show was supposed to. Other greats are Adam Smith. Adam Smith was way out of this world with his directing, it was like a film. Euros did some Sherlock, maybe he'll come back to Who soon. Saul Metzstein is great too. Nick Hurran was the best choice for the 50th though. His episodes are a thing of beauty.

Okay.
Also Matt and Jenna are meeting Prince Charles on set at the start of next month. We can assume this is during filming which means Matt is on set and in costume.
With a shaved head.

i know the video is awesome but it doesnt feel like you posting anymore ahhhh
what the hell, i didnt even realize that was dan
i thought we had another DW geek avaliable :o
Jenna is filming Death Comes to Pemberly later this month. It won't be massive and won't take long, but I don't know if the Christmas Special will be filming when Charles visits. Actors have returned to the set for special events before.
Also, hi.

That's why you must always be Brooker, Grizz must always be Coleman, Evlbzltyr must be White Stripes, and Dain always be Rainbow Brooker, Acezorz must be camp Facepunch (though years ago he was Harry Lloyd).
It's amazing how that can stick in your mind. It's like the equivalent of faces.

Radio times has spoken to Philip Fleming, Head of Communications, Brands, Content & Digital, BBC Worldwide.
I like how RT referes to him as "Spokeswoman". Imagine working all those years and RT forgets your job AND your gender.
“There are always rumours and speculation about Doctor Who missing episodes being discovered - however we cannot confirm any new finds,” a statement says.
Can’t confirm? What does that mean? Does this meant that it may be true but they can’t confirm or that the can’t confirm because they have no information to this effect? Can they not confirm because it isn’t true?
“We can’t confirm because it’s not true as far a I’m aware,” the spokeswoman adds.
But are they talking to Morris? Or anyone with lost episodes.
“I don’t think so?”
So there are no episodes?
“Not as far as we know.”
So not a denial then. A complete non statement. "We can’t confirm because it’s not true" Oh right okay then- "as far as I'm aware".
Amazing. People use that trick to get away with any bullshit statement, as far as I'm aware. Look how much uncertainty it adds to the sentence. So at a later date Ms Philip Fleming can come back and say "I never said anything".
Further reinforces the idea the BBC is either still negotiating or isn't really sure what it has yet. That amount of film probably takes ages to get through.
What happened to just issuing statements that said "no, it's bollocks mate". Let me reword this statement while delivering the exact same message:
“Rumours are a thing that exist. We can't talk about the episodes we found. If you got further questions ask our spokeswoman-MAN it's a man. But she knows nothing really and will do the equivalent of shrugging her shoulders and making a vague noise which resembles ignorance. ...Philip is a mans name right? Sorry” a statement says.
True. But it bodes well Matt is in town and trudging down set. Blogtor and others seem certain filming takes place next month.
Will not be able to tolerate 11 with a shaved head. It doesn't match the character and will feel weird to change his hair for his last story. Maybe it's part of it. Maybe HurtDoctor forces him into a haircut. Maybe 11 wants to join skin head culture.
I hope the wig looks good.
