I want nonsense, Damn you! Also. Series 6 was my personal favourite.
I was also very happy that the ponds stayed on for two and a half season. It felt like the first proper companions since Rose, really. I really think they should start keeping companions around for more seasons. I'm already a huge fan of River and i hope she stays on for a few more seasons. We still need her entire middle-act.

Somebody posted a video the other day showing the whole of Rivers story in order. And it's pretty damn complete.
Series 7 isn't the last thing Matt has been involved in........ ; )
Smith wasn't going to turn down a film role based on when the BBC wanted to announce his departure. Or what it meant for his hair. So that isn't so weird. Confidential either needed tightening up or needed to go - it's cancellation wasn't too much of a shock. Who was very lucky to get a weekly documentary for six series. But it started churning out nonsense at times.
Yeah you're right.
I'm sure I've said most of this before myself. I'm just so inconsistent with my opinions when it comes to Who.

I was supposed to sleep now. How far back?
[editline]28th June 2013[/editline]
Just watched it. We still have the actual day of giving his name left and also her words at the library. "The last time i saw you, you showed up at my doorstep with a new face, a new haircut." The 12th?

She doesnt say new face! She says a suit.
The event she's talking about takes place on the DVD box set as a bonus feature. We see The Doctor in a suit (A hat covering his hair) and he explains to a past Eleventh Doctor that he's just about to take her on the last date. Where we can assume he tells his name and gives the screwdriver.

Such a major plot point shouldn't be a DVD extra.
I really wanted that to be an episode. Just seems like it's been brushed aside.
I still want to know who/what was controlling the TARDIS and made it explode. I mean, it's a fairly big plot point that they seem to have ignored.

True, we have that. But she also specifically talks about their last kiss and his first as if That's the final moment. So weird.

The Silence?
"Silence will fall" was being blasted over the speakers and then we found out who said that the very next series. They were trying to kill The Doctor to stop him going to Trenzalore.
Because once he gets there, GI enters the tomb and begins to erase the universe planet by planet. Silence begins to fall.

Pretty sure that old man voice hasn't been explained yet.

Yeah that's true about the Silence. But how did they control the TARDIS and why blow it up? I get that they want to kill The Doctor, but there's easier ways then destroying the universe to stop The GI from destroying the universe.
I haven't heard it in ages, but I think the voice was different to the standard Silence voice (Although I could be wrong, it's been a while).
It just seems like very sloppy writing to me, if they never explain it properly.
Didn't we agree that it probably was the GI?
Didn't we agree that it probably was the GI?
Yeah but the voice doesn't match anyone I've heard before. It doesn't sound like the Great Intelligence and it doesn't match Richard E Grant's character either.
Yeah but the voice doesn't match anyone I've heard before. It doesn't sound like the Great Intelligence and it doesn't match Richard E Grant's character either.
Well obviously because REG hadn't been cast at that point
But if it was GI, you'd have thought they would reference it in the flashback thing when the GI enters the time scar. Just a face on a monitor in the TARDIS when it is exploding would have been enough.

I think it was always intended to be The Silence but they didn't know how they would sound at the time.
I think Moffat confirmed it ages ago.

It's also why The Doctor stopped worrying about "who blew up the TARDIS" in Series 6.

Remember that time George Harrison was kidnapped by Daleks and The Doctor had to fill in? Here's a picture of that time I guess.

A episode of Doctor Who set in the '60s with the Beatles would be brilliant.
Especially if it was written in a similar way to Unicorn and the Wasp: offering an alternate explanation to a real-life event that happened to the band
Sadly an episode of Doctor Who could never find an actor to adequately portray John Lennon.
All four Beatles were to appear in The Chase (60's episode) but management said no on the day of filming. In the sequence the new popular band was to be shown in the year 2000 as old men. In the end a clip of The Beatles performing on 'Top of The Pops' was used with The Doctor and companions dancing along. Because the BBC lost all it's tv from the 60s, this is the only surviving clip of The Beatles on ToTP.
Though it was cut from some videos and international DVD releases. No idea if it's in the DVD. Beatles rights are notoriously impossible to sort. McCartney has been holding tightly onto The Beatles name since he got the rights back when Michael Jackson died. He doesn't want The Beatles to be fucked to death. Afterall, he can do that himself at the end of an Olympic Opening Ceremony.

I don't think MacCartney was behind that Sgt. Peppers thing, and even then, it was kind of cool.

wouldnt it make more sense for him to be in The Who?

No I was talking about Pauls shoddy performance itself. When Arctic Monkeys had done a Beatles song so much better earlier in the show, working perfectly into the "Pass the torch" message of the show itself. But that was another show and another time.

So I researched a bit more about the movie, Lennon Naked. Biographical film about Lennon. Guess who plays Paul? That's right, Andrew Scott, Sherlock's Moriarty. And the woman who did Yoko? Why, it's Naoko Mori, who was in Aliens in London and in Torchwood. Coincidences...

I wouldn't be surprised that if we ever see the Doctor telling River his name, it's just going to be a shitty little loop.
"You're going to need to know my name to gain the trust of my past incarnation so here you go..."
then he punches her in the face and says "Sorry." and then dies
With the Valeyard being the 13th and last incarnation of the Doctor, I wonder how this will work out, will they follow it? Or will they just keep changing him so instead of the 13th, he would be like the 27th or something?
Also speaking of such, what if [sp]John Hurt is actually the Valeyard? What if it counts the Doctor's he MET and also his past Regenerations? Making it possibly that John is the Valeyard[/sp]

WE will never hear the name. They might as well just end the whole series in mass tentacle rape.
