This is complete bullshit. You're going to forgot almost all of your dream a few minutes after you wake up unless you really throttle it in your mind, or even tell someone about it. Otherwise you'll forget.
I am actually pretty good at remembering my dreams. Especially if they reoccur. Once is all it takes. I still remember two dreams i had about 12 years ago. They reoccurred for 4 nights straight, and i'll never forget them as long as i live. They weren't night terrors, and they were perfectly lucid. The first dream reoccurred for 4 nights, then a month or so later, i had a different one, that felt exactly the same as the first one, but it was a different scenario, and that reoccurred for 3 nights. Then a couple years later i apparently was channeling demons or something in my sleep, that went on for 3 months, every night at 2:34 in the morning. Down to the minute, my mom says. I was probably around 11 at the time She says she used to stay up and wait for that exact time to trigger my episodes every night for 3 months. Then one day it just stopped. Nearly scared her half to death though. The difference here, and the reason why i am saying this, is that during these 3 months, i never dreamed once. And i never even was aware of my episodes. Even though i'd thrash around and occasionally get out of bed and sleep walk. The only time when i had woke up during one of the episodes was when i was slapped awake by my dad at the bottom of my stairs. That means i slept walked down my stairs. Thats scarey as shit. It was like possession. So, lucid dreaming, i can't force it upon myself. But once in a while i'll have one, and i'll remember every detail for a couple days. Some stay in my memory much longer. Probably because they have a more substantial subliminal impact on my emotions.
A lot of that sounds like bullshit, but I disagree with one major point. In my dreams, I never, EVER look in mirrors. Fucked up shit happens.
I used to lucid dream all the time as a kid and I could always wake myself up at any time. But now I can't do it anymore.
Lucid dreaming is 101% real, its just not well known by most people [editline]26th October 2011[/editline] I can already control my dreams, first time in ages that i really want to go to bed. If you expierence something like you go base jumping and then you control your dream to do so like you're flying then it will feel alot better. I went base jumping a few weeks ago and fuck its amazing, however a sleep paralyse is the worst thing you can ever have

Like I said though you only think you have a firm grasp on what happened, but there are likely hundreds of missing details and many scenes that could have overlapped the one you experienced. [editline]1st November 2011[/editline]
Fuck you guys and your lucid dreams. I always have "lucid dreams" about nightmarish shit, and it's so terrifying that I can't even get up in the morning. Couple that with occasional sleep paralysis, and you will never want to dream again.
Lucid dream nightmares are the most common form of LD, almost everyone has experienced their first LD that way. Most prominently is the running-away from something nightmare, typically you continue running till you suddenly realize that you are dreaming, obviously an inexperienced LD would probably have no clue to change around the situation. An experienced LD on the other hand could easily turn the tables of the dream, you could wipe out the nightmarish entity to extreme satisfaction or even question your subconscious mind is to the reasons of creating the nightmarish scenario in otherwords you can use it to understand yourself better and overcome a problem in waking life.
The giant lucid dreaming thread from 05 is what brought me to Facepunch. They're great fun when they actually happen.
Anyone tried lucid dreaming within a lucid dreaming dream yet?
Some of the techniques don't work. Some guy mentioned that if you touch your tounge to your teeth you wont feel them. Well I tried and I could feel them perfectly.
I hate waking up from a lucid dream
I've had a few lucid dreams, lotta perverted stuff happened once I realized it was a dream.
