Have you noticed that the elderly generally do not fear death? it is because death tells you when it is or is not your time.
Have you noticed that the elderly generally do not fear death? it is because death tells you when it is or is not your time.
"Hey." "Oh no! Not yet!" "No worries, It's not your time. I'm here for your neighbor, though." I think a lot of elderly people just accept the inevitable. They understand that death is a fact of life no matter what they do they will die. I mean, why would you want to die, being pissed off that you're going to die when you're elderly?
I heard somewhere that your brain, at it's last second of life, plays what you think the afterlife will be. So if you're an Atheist; you see nothing, part of a religion with an afterlife; 'Heaven'. A second can be drawn out like an eternity, hence the idea of an afterlife. People who have come extremely close to death have experienced this.
I'm not afraid of dying, I find it stupid to fear something that has to happen, to live life in fear of it all the time seems really shitty.
Well, I hope to be baptized soon and be accepted by Christ since I have been learning about God. So heaven will be my finial destination and eternal life. If most of you would take the time to learn about the lord you could be saved. I mean it's not so bad for you atheist. Just join Christ as a back-up plan in case you go to hell :catholic:.
I'm not afraid of death, because i'm sure that when i'm dead, there won't be anything afterwards. And i find it great to know that when i die, it'll be the end of it.
I'm gonna do this.
IMO, it would be just as terrifying to life forever as it would to cease existence and have everything turn black. Just think... what if you had to live for eternity (as a mortal human.) Forever. and ever. No matter what. It would be just as bad.
We won't even know when it happens, it's all good.
I don't like thinking about it I guess I pride in trying not to believe in a religion that may prove to be false yet I think I want to believe so I don't have to worry ahhh I hate thinking about it.
I am gonna put my brain in an Adrian-bar-bo-bot. well see who gets the last laugh then. :smug:
I don't like thinking about this subject at all, it makes me totally depressed. I just hope we come back as ghost, and we can see with other ghost, and we can all hang out with each other and shit. I hate the thought of living in nothingness.
...what about the big man in the sky?

You just won't notice because you'll be dead.
No. when someone dies people are sad because that person is gone from their lives forever.
That sounds pretty much the same as what I said. You're right though. I haven't yet had anyone REALLY close to me die yet, and don't know how I'll feel if such a day every comes. Just the thought of it scares you that one day its possible that many of those you see and love around you will begin disappearing.. Kind of makes you lonely. Well unless I die before them. But then maybe they'll feel that same loneliness I'm sensing I'll get right now... blah blah words
My Father died when I was 10, as a child, I was greatly affected, but when I got older I learned to accept it, and even though I knew my father very little since he was in the navy, I learned that he died, and was gone forever. Never to see him again, I don't feel sad or anything, because I have accepted the fact he is gone. Well, what I mean, is that, since I accepted my fathers death, In time, I will not fear death.

Also you'll be capable of everything, and with infinite possibilities, and with eternity to experience it, your eternal life is actually quite full of exiting stuff. That's my view of it, anyway.
Luckily for most people in their early twenties or in high school Life expectant expands on every new generation. For example in the 50s you where lucky to live to 40 now you can live to be 100. Just think what will it be in the future.
i don't fear death when i'm 90 on my deathbed and my children and grandchildren around me i'm going to look back upon my years, with my friends in primary school and my friends from secondary, and all major events, i'll laugh upon it, and maybe cry, at all the opportunities i had to do something but i didn't. i'll be sad that i didn't do more and now the grim reaper is waiting. i'll realise my time is up and before i die, [sp]i'll go on facepunch and people will be like holy shit an active 07er and i'll be like fuck yes my life is complete[/sp]
In the Bible,
Gotcha. Bible is just a fiction book written by a man.
Gotcha. Bible is just a fiction book written by a man.
That conversation isn't what this thread is about 'making peace with death'. Are you trying to unmake my peace, you troll?
I hope that in my lifetime they're able to extend my lifetime.
How is nothing peaceful? Did you find the time from the beginning of the universe to your first conscience thought peaceful? I doubt it.
The first ten million years were the worst, and the second ten million years, they were the worst too. The third ten million I didn't enjoy at all. After that I went into a bit of a decline.

I'm not afraid of death in itself, just the way it happens. I'd rather die in my sleep than get stabbed to death or some painful shit.
I'm going to fight for my life until my last breath. It's not that I fear death because I don't understand it, just that if I didn't, I'd have shit survivability as a lifeform.
