The problem with religion is that every single member of one claims to have the absolute truth. You label terrorists as extremists, but to them they are correct and you are a blasphemous heathen.

You must submit to god.
Pray 5 times a day.
Must visit Hajj (First Musjid [yes it's musjid, not mosque...] ever built) at least once in lifetime.
Believe in word of God/ His messenger Muhammad.
Donate to charities
Respect all people (no hitting, name calling etc.) especially your spouse.

Hajj is a pilgrimage, not a place to visit.
Muslims take the Hajj to Mecca / Kaaba.

People are so stupid. Generalizing about Muslims and saying they're all terrorists is as stupid as saying that all Christians picket funerals and yell 'god hates fags, etc'. Theres always going to be someone who identifies themself as part of a larger religion, even if bat-shit customs and actions that completely go against the norm for the majority of their group. (or at least the one the say the are part of).
I'm an atheist in case anyone is wondering; but the prospect of attempting to associate one's own (sub-denomination/sect/etc/whateverthefuckyouwanttocallit) violent behaviors with that of a relatively peaceful peoples disgusts me.

It's not true; no where in the Qur'an does it make any mention of that. Just like in other religions, such as Christianity people make 'inferences' as to what certain phrases/passages mean. They take their interpretation of what something says and use as a justification for their actions.
Does it say anywhere in the bible to picket funerals or lynch black people?

But they claim to be; another group denounces their believes. I'm sure their are many Muslims (hell, it was in the news a while back even, some council did) denounce the radicals as being of their religion.
Therein, you can claim to be a part of a religion, and if anyone thinks you are part of the religion as a whole, they are going to make generalizations.
I find organizations like Fox News that spread the generalization that Muslims are all extremist, American hating Arabs more controlling and damaging than religion as a whole.
I would choose religion over Glenn Beck any day.
I always knew Muslim people weren't all like this. Also, Pjanoo, is wearing the Hijab and Burqa really necessary for Muslim women? I know they're supposed to dress modestly, but it bothers me a bit.

Religion does exactly the same thing, and has always served the role that Glenn Beck has. Providing illogical answers to 'problems' in society in order to leverage political power in order to advocate their friends who may not be as superficially charming.
Fox News -> Right Wing Advocacy, lies, manipulation of large groups of people.
Religion -> Political Benefits, Make everyone think I'm the son of a god so they build me giant pyramids, etc.

So the later parts are meant for more devote Muslims.
