Anyone else notice that a lot of these unexplained sounds, namely The Bloop, Julia and Slowdown all come from somewhere west of South America?

I wish I could have deep sea fish as pets. Unfortunately, I read that they die in light pressure environments.

Teh BP oil spill was an attempt by all the deep sea freaks to kill themselves. The ocean is a weird place. I saw this video in which a couple dived down in to this really strange lake or whatever that had a lot of strange, natural chemical reactions going on. It was like really cold at the top, but it was like over 100 degrees F at the bottom. The visuals changed as well. They went through like red stuff and then black stuff and at the bottom they did find some life. I guess one thing to note is that the woman kept her wedding ring on and when she resurfaced, it was tarnished. Granted, they didn't find crazy creatures like the one in this thread, but the conditions they were living in were pretty crazy. But again, they were small creatures.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coelacanth That one still amuses me. In the entire history of mankind, few types of it with minor variations have been found. A fossil dating ~360 MILLION years old was found in Australia. It's quite remarkable.
Wouldn't be surprised if we found 'alien' life somewhere in the ocean, and my alien life i mean something that has evolved completely differently to anything else on the planet and after watching some of these deep blue videos it looks quite possible!
That would be the definition of evolution?

Well technically there is but not a deep sea animal that stops you sleeping. [editline]11th July 2011[/editline] skip to about 50 seconds in and watch from there.
Almost makes me glad I'm allergic to fish. But I still want a sea pig tho And coffin fish [editline]10th July 2011[/editline] :saddowns: [editline]10th July 2011[/editline] :saddowns: [editline]10th July 2011[/editline] Where are the smileys?
Search Lake Vostok, its like a lake in the Antarctic that has been closed of for like 5 million years, people think it could have prehistoric animals in it.
i wonder what it tastes like
i wonder what it tastes like
This is why everything we find eventually becomes extinct
That jerkface eel has the full potential of becoming a new meme.
It's used a lot as a reaction image.
I'm super late again. Who would have guessed.

Love seeing the scary discoveries, they're the most interesting.
