Fords are not good at all better get a VW,Audi or Opel
Off topic question. 90's eu escorts are rust buckets, do us versions tend to rust alot to? just curious.
I don't know how rusty it has to be to constitute as a rust bucket but there is a lot of rust here and there, mostly under the hood.
At least do a basic tune-up, and also be sure to check all the lights, and buy 1 spare of every different type external light and keep it in your glovebox or something, so if a cop pulls you over for a burnt-out tail-light, you can fix it right then. Also, 1994 isn't even that old. My 1972 Olds Cutlass S is much older.
You have a 72 cutlass :O is it godly like I imgine it to be?
you should check important points before you buy a car, i think :p Check its fluids, tyres, suspension, breaks, leaks under the car from the clutch, or drivetrain,.. suspension can be easily checked by pushing the car down and it should only come up once, if it keeps jumping up and down there's something wrong, happens alot with old cars :p

You should blow the car with nitroglycerin
If you can push a car down so much that it actually ever manages to jump you are superman also you must be the greatest mechanic ever
it's not that hard to push a car down :p really, if your suspension doesn't work, it won't just come back up, it will go back down a lil bit :) Jumping up and down does sound a bit ridiculous and over the top, i admit :p
The fucking faces... Can you explain the suspension load again, because I didn't understand a single word of it.
Argh. Is it so difficult? You press the car down, by pushing the hood or so, if it comes back up in 1 move, suspension is ok; if the car 'fades' out in moving up and down,it's fucked. Ok? it means the shock absorbers don't absorb the shock the way they should. You'll get seasick in your car.
it's not that hard to push a car down :p
Depends on the car
if your suspension doesn't work, it won't just come back up, it will go back down a lil bit :)
If the suspension doesn't work, the body would be all the way down on the ground
Argh. Is it so difficult?
You are explaining faulty shock absorption like a 10 year old, yes it makes it hard to understand
You press the car down, by pushing the hood or so, if it comes back up in 1 move, suspension is ok; if the car 'fades' out in moving up and down,it's fucked.
Some old cars were built with bad shock absorbers like 90% of old american cars
It ain't easy to explain technical things in another language. And even when they're built with bad absorbers, you should still replace them. It's important. I guess he isn't driving a hummer, so pushing his car down shouldn't be a problem. By the way, it's not because suspension doesn't work, that your body will be all the way down..if the absorbers have a faulty oil circuit and pushes too much oil through at the same time, it will only take longer to absorb, as the 'friction' of the oil slows down the up and downwards movement. (in case of oil absorbers, duh)
I'm also explaining technical stuff in another language I'm Norwegian :v:
congratz, you have a better knowledge in language.
my brothers friends neons springs got fucked and when driving down this one part of parkway where there is bumps every 10 feet it looked like he had hydraulics on it.
Oh yeah as above, it'll want a good service. Drain the petrol out too, it'll be shite by now.
Yeah, do this. When gas sits for a while, it can get water into it and they blend. The car will still start, but it can damage the engine further on depending on how much water got into the gas.
