Here's the thing I always thought was weird. They don't want animals to be hurt so they don't buy meat. But the animal was already killed at this point, it's not like they make all the meat for you personally.

I can agree that the poor treatment of the animals is something that needs fixing. But life is not holy or anything. What many vegans do not know is that if a cow is not milked it leads to infections and mastitis, which is very painful for the cow and can lead to death.
Also chickens lay eggs whether people are eating them or not, it is a natural bodily function. If we don't remove them they are just wasted and may get trampled on covering the chickens in rotting egg goop.
The only logical reason I can accept for not eating meat is that they simply don't like the taste (some people just don't) or they have a medical condition that prevents it. I can understand people concern over animal welfare, but then they can just buy certified free range meat, or buy a farm and raise the animals themselves.

and if a cow isn't producing milk because it's having a bunch of babies it doesn't either, and if we don't have millions of chickens for their eggs they aren't producing millions of eggs either
and no, I don't want you to stop eating animal products, although I'm sure eating a bit less would help.
