Well no, it is not a freak accident. Humans, or at least SOME kind of dominant species, had to happen due to the existence of natural selection. Natural selection always creates a dominant species. And humans may not have been designed to do anything, but they evolved to eat meat and plants. They (or well, we, since I am a human) evolved into omnivores. Humans didn't randomly appear.

I respect vegans and vegetarians who opt for those lifestyles as a personal choice. However the line must drawn when it comes to imposing that choice on others.
The topic of animal rights is a complicated one, and while people can come to their own conclusions about it (and thus decide whether or not to be vegan/vegetarian/omnivorous), it has not nearly been resolved enough to blanket statements about its morality.
Take, for example, the issue of racial equality. It is (rightly) considered to be intolerable. You can't say to someone "I subjugate minorities and even though you believe in racial equality, I expect you to tolerate my beliefs!" However that's because the vast majority of society has come to a consensus on the issue. Everyone understands and agrees with the general argument in support of racial equality.
With vegetarianism it isn't nearly as clear. Picking a side of the issue and expecting everyone else to agree with you is idiotic. Yeah, the girl in the OP is crazy. She shouldn't expect other people to change their stance on an issue in order to conform to her will. But all the people saying "WHAT A BITCH. FUCK VEGANS. AREN'T THEY SO DUMB." are just as bad.
