Nope
In fact I am eating a ham sandwich as I post this

the fact that this post got a winner proves my point about non-vegans being just as annoying and in-your-face
Time to find a new roommate, or if you don't need one, kick her out. She won't tolerate it being in her house? Bitch learn your place
no the milk in the froth and in certain circumstances civet coffee
Regardless, this thread is full of idiots who are offended by other people choosing to not eat meat, and that's as ridiculous as vegans being offended by people eating meat, really.
no i would think not because vegans could basicly walk into a coffee shop and tell everyone to stop drinking the coffee because its against their beliefs
and I could start shooting everyone but I'm not currently being blamed for mass murder so why are you blaming vegans for something that hasn't actually happened yet

you can have half of the sandwich if you like

no this thread is about people discussing why vegans shouldn't have control over our diet and shouldn't be able to just tell us that we cant have products from an animal
just like the fucking blacks
they can be black all they want but not around me no sir
First off, being black isn't a choice, being a vegan is.
Second, black people don't try to turn convert races to black.

1. I already explained that it doesn't matter if it's a choice or not because you're not being harmed either way
2. Vegans don't try to convert people to vegan, assholes do. if they weren't vegan they'd find some other way to be an asshole
I'm not, I'm now a vegetarian. I was born into a family of vegans and raised a vegan. I have tried meat and I don't like it.
My cousin is like that, when she eats meat She feels sick, on top of hating the taste. She can eat fish and eggs fine though, and most animal products. I remember asking her about it when i was a kid (I'm like, 10 years behind all my cousins) apparently it can be sometimes difficult to find things that are vegetarian safe. Is that true
/ontopic
The problem with vegans, like Mormons, atheists ect, that in my experience will try to convert you. I remember watching the two Jamie Oliver specials, the one with the cage hens, and how i found out about male chicks been slaughtered at birth, hens kept in cages for year, hens in barn with shit up to their knees near the end, giving them painful burns and making them live with horrible pain. then he did another pig special, about pigs who are kept in stalls, not as bad as the hens, but still pretty bad. i saw a young male pig have it's testicles cut off, no pain relief at all, then it squealing back to its mother and crying. Apparently it makes the meat taste bad if they have testosterone in them.
Almost made me turn vegan, or at least vegetarian, but now i make sure only to buy free range eggs, and pork. Plus, free range pork belly, with fennel salt and braised white wine fennel bulbs is fucking delicious.
A. it's way more personal than it should be

A. Well, sorry if I can't help but feel rather bad about watching some ignorant parents who neglect their child's diet, at the expense of his health, because "he is going to be a vegan, just like us! :D"
That's what I don't like, but then again, it's none of my business so I shouldn't really care about it much.
B. I sometimes tend to post like that.
C. It's not whiny, I just stated my opinion on the matter. Sorry if it sounds harsh to you.
why is it okay for a non-vegan to tell a vegan to eat meat but not the other way around, anyway
I would do one of two things. First choice, I would go to a butcher and buy a whole pig, like you see on myth-busters. When she arrived home I would take it out of it's hiding spot, carry it to her, and drop it on the table in front of her and just leave it there. Secondly, I would buy like 10 packages of hot dogs, and go around the apartment/house placing hot dogs in random places, like in her drawers, in the bathroom, and en the cupboards. There is so much potential for fun in a situation like that :buddy:

No, it's very whiny
the note wasn't even directed at you, it's a thing you found on the internet

No, these people tend to have better diets than vegans.
And pretty much the only reason vegans exist is because they have an easy enough life to avoid eating meat. Before the industrial revolution only those in religious orders avoided eating meat (And only at certain times)
I had a friend who's entire family was vegan, they never once did this to me when I was with him.
But yeah, when people try to push their beliefs on me, that sends me off the edge.

that's something a sociopath would do
and it would only be logical for a sociopath to rate me disagree in return
How is being tolerant of a neighbor abusing their child similar to a vegan tolerating a meat eater?
The first can get your ass in jail and the second is...perfectly fucking normal for a human being.
Yeah, it's cool to have her beliefs, but for her to say that that meat eater can't have meat in the house because it disrespects her views actually disrespects the roommate at the same time for the same reason. What the fuck is wrong with her? You know, the world doesn't revolve around her, and everybody doesn't have to respect you. Respect goes both ways, not one. You just have to learn to compromise.
If the neighbor next door was abusing their child, I would turn a blind eye. Unless the child came to my house asking for help or something, then I'd obviously help. Otherwise it isn't my situation to get into.
My kids can eat the types of animals they kill with their hands.

These are the people we're (or at least I'm) talking about.
I have no problems with vegans, unless they (like the one in the OP) attempt to force their beliefs on others.

its only fair.
No, these people tend to have better diets than vegans.
Vegans don't eat at McDonald's every weekend.

People ate potatoes and only occasionally meat since it wasn't mass produced by the industry, you had to get it yourself.
Now meat is being mass-produced even though it's very bad for the environment even though we can live without eating meat. The reason vegans exist isn't BECAUSE it's easy being a vegan, but because the easyness of being a vegan has given them oppurtunity to live without eating mass-produced meat.
The lady in the OP was sticking to morals and believes that harming animals is in the area of harming people.
I find it to be a tough moral situation.
thisispain, do you happen to be a vegan?
Also, Zeke and thisispain, you wouldn't be defending this hate if it was directed against religion would you?
I'd leave her a note back:
Dear BLANK,
Fuck you.
Too right, what a morally uptight bitch. If I lived with her and got that kind of a note I'd make it a point to either fuck with her massively on the matter or the OP said, laugh my rocks off in her face at her attempt at conversion.
"I'm a level 5 vegan, I won't eat anything that casts a shadow.

That doesn't make sense. You could use the same logic to say you shouldn't care about someone who's black because you're not black.
