well vegan is about eating saying there's no such thing as a vegan because wallpaper is made of animal hooves is besides the point [editline]11th July 2011[/editline] depends on how you use the word illogical if me being vegetarian is somehow illogical compared to eating meat and suffering from gastrointestinal issues then i do think it's time to reanalyze logic
I think he meant as in, saying vegetarians are more likely to be healthier than those who eat both meat and vegetables and fruits. Is illogical, because it is, there's a reason physicians recommend ALL the food groups.
Ever consume anything sweetened with sugar? Even natural cane sugar is almost universally whitened. Bone char from livestock is used as part of the bleaching process. Various alcoholic beverages contain sturgeons parts and a few other animal products in order to obtain the color they want. Virtually anything food related that is the color pink comes from dead bugs. This list goes on and on. I read an article a while back in which a woman followed one pig from the slaughterhouse to the several hundred products that the pig wound up in. It as actually really a refreshing read because you always have this picture of modern society being totally wasteful with livestock, but capitalism has seen to the exact opposite. The native Americans have nothing on how completely we use animals now.
right but i don't really care, and nobody really cares at all because it's besides the point i'm pretty sure vegetarian and vegan has to do with putting meat in your mouth
vegetarians being more likely to be healthier is not necessarily because they don't eat meat but probably because they look and analyze their diet more carefully? which would make it a statistical anomaly. and generally a physician should know that anything healthy in meat is also obtainable through other means
automergé
right but i don't really care, and nobody really cares at all because it's besides the point i'm pretty sure vegetarian and vegan has to do with putting meat in your mouth
Isinglass is ground bladder. It is in virtually every ale out there, plus a few wines and beers. That would be meat entering your digestive tract via your mouth.

well my dictionary disagrees with that definition but i don't think most vegans really take that far i guess you could talk about "militant veganism" but nobody's really talking about "militant veganism" [editline]11th July 2011[/editline]
Isinglass is ground bladder.
well my dictionary disagrees with that definition but i don't think most vegans really take that far i guess you could talk about "militant veganism" but nobody's really talking about "militant veganism"
I think we are mostly talking about vegans anyways. Being vegetarian is silly, but going vegan is beyond ridiculous.
depends on how you use the word illogical if me being vegetarian is somehow illogical compared to eating meat and suffering from gastrointestinal issues then i do think it's time to reanalyze logic
if you eat meat within a reasonable amount there are no complications
I think we are mostly talking about vegans anyways. Being vegetarian is silly, but going vegan is beyond ridiculous.
yes i guess my diet is quite silly are you trying to argue that veganism and vegetarianism don't actually exist because everything has animal products in them? [editline]11th July 2011[/editline]
if you eat meat within a reasonable amount there are no complications
how about i give you the number of my physician and you two can work it out for me
It's not specificity vegans that are annoying in this matter, think about it, pretty much power- anything is annoying. power-lesbians, power-furries, power-vegans, power-feminists, power-PETArds , power-muslims the 'power' prefix pretty much stands for people who believe that they have the 'power' to criticize and attempt to aggressively change your lifestyle.
I'm never going to give up meat. They'll have to pry the chicken wings out of my cold dead hands.
how about i give you the number of my physician and you two can work it out for me
i'm not telling you what to eat, hence the "people can be vegans/vegetarians if they want"
yes i guess my diet is quite silly are you trying to argue that veganism and vegetarianism don't actually exist because everything has animal products in them?
I'm not really trying to argue anything. I just like giving vegans a hard time. :v:
i'm not telling you what to eat, hence the "people can be vegans/vegetarians if they want"
you said if i eat meat within a reasonable amount there are no complications which is obviously false because i've had complications before and they stopped when i stopped eat meat so logically for some people there are complications with eating meat
right but probably most of it is in your imagination and comes from your simple dislike of people i think i've met a reasonably high amount of people, all who'd follow your definitions of power-anything but i've never been annoyed even once by them
being annoyed by someone trying to aggressively change your lifestyle is perfectly sound however passive you are don't discredit him with that
I became vegetarian a few months to prove a point, but vegan is fucking stupid.
you said if i eat meat within a reasonable amount there are no complications which is obviously false because i've had complications before and they stopped when i stopped eat meat so logically for some people there are complications with eating meat
i thought you were speaking generally but yeah that's a good reason not to eat meat
you said if i eat meat within a reasonable amount there are no complications which is obviously false because i've had complications before and they stopped when i stopped eat meat so logically for some people there are complications with eating meat
Complications? Was it after not eating meat for a period of time? Or did one day did meat suddenly bite you in the mid-section?
I'm not really trying to argue anything. I just like giving vegans a hard time. :v:
i don't even think there are any vegans on this forum i just think vegan or vegetarian is a good description for what people sometimes do, which is not eat certain things so when you ring someone up for a party you can say are you a vegetarian or a vegan, and because you genuinely like people and want them to come to the party you change things around their needs so that there are vegetarian and vegan things to eat if that's silly to you then you're probably someone who won't come to the party [editline]11th July 2011[/editline]
being annoyed by someone trying to aggressively change your lifestyle is perfectly sound
right but these people are hardly even around the op didn't even experience this, it was some blog and probably the person did something to provoke or the other person is a sociopath i don't really know how this warrants hatred of anything is beyond me
i don't even think there are any vegans on this forum i just think vegan or vegetarian is a good description for what people sometimes do, which is not eat certain things so when you ring someone up for a party you can say are you a vegetarian or a vegan, and because you genuinely like people and want them to come to the party you change things around their needs so that there are vegetarian and vegan things to eat if that's silly to you then you're probably someone who won't come to the party
I have always wanted to claim to be Jewish and demand that everything be kosher when asked that question. It isn't one you really see coming.
Complications? Was it after not eating meat for a period of time?
right but these people are hardly even around the op didn't even experience this, it was some blog and probably the person did something to provoke or the other person is a sociopath i don't really know how this warrants hatred of anything is beyond me
they are around most definitely, i can't walk a good ten feet in my area without a power-christian, power-republican, power-whatever criticizing a gay pride rally or something ridiculous like that he said that vegans weren't wrong in the matter but the "power" people who are how did you misread that
they are around most definitely, i can't walk a good ten feet in my area without a power-christian, power-republican, power-whatever criticizing a gay pride rally or something ridiculous like that
well then you should stop being around them [editline]11th July 2011[/editline]
I'm never going to give up meat. They'll have to pry the chicken wings out of my cold dead hands.
i don't think anyone is going to kill you over chicken wings
one day when eating meat i suffered a violent reaction in my stomach that hurt a lot and i went to the doctor and the doctor said that the meat was negatively affecting my stomach so i shouldn't eat it for a while
Given that meat is among the more easy to digest substances you can put through your system, that is extremely unusual. It would also be unusual given that not eating meat for an extended period will often CAUSE something that simulates an allergic reaction.
i do have an observing jewish friend and when he comes around i put kosher things for him to eat it's not a big deal
The only time I get asked that question is when I have to go to yet another of the seemingly endless stream of weddings I attend these days. Given that they usually only have two meals, it would certainly fuck things up. Not that I would ever actually do it, but I find the thought entertaining while I watch some dimwit trying to give a toast.
well then you should stop being around them
you act like it's easy to just drop everything and stop being around people who dislike you
The one vegan I know is genuinely a great person and doesn't give two shits if you buy a whole fucking cow and eat only the eyes, vegans like this just piss me off
Given that meat is among the more easy to digest substances you can put through your system, that is extremely unusual.
Think of it this way. How many people have been told to avoid meat for medical reasons? I can name some off the top of my head. Including Adolf Hitler, but you know. Now how many people have been told to avoid vegetables?
