I hated Touch Typing in computer class. Everyone was required to do it, even though I actually knew how to fucking type.
Wow, 44 WPM.
I feel freaking retarded or something.
Why does no one want to race me? :<
Why has nobody posted the typing of the dead?!

It's the house of the dead 2 but you kill zombies by typing words on their chests instead of by shooting them. Tons of fun and taught me to touch type faster than anything else I could possibly find.

Oh sweet. This game is so great. Especially if you want to train people who are terrified of zombies to type.
Kickass game.

EVERYONE PUT YOUR LIGHTERS IN THE AIR!!!! :banjo::rock:
Hello there my name is Tom and I like dogs and cats and rats and salt and rainbows and God made all of these my name is Jonas I'm pissing in the wind thanks for all you've shown us I really need to wee come sit next to me I need to think of other words kill me if you dare wave my hands up in the air
I typed that in a minute using just my index fingers and left middle finger for the es in there, and my left ring finger for the caps lock key. There were a couple of mistakes which I corrected in the minute. Here's a minute of uncorrected typing:
Hello there my name is Tom I like to singa about the moone and the dunea and the springer oh yes I do you know there are more than one ways to write a story my favourite is with writing because you can read it in my primary school we were tought to handwrite it was called new nelson and it was shit because there weren;t even any dashes on the end of the q so that
That's 76.
We had to learn to touch type in primary school, but our fingers were too small for the keyboards so nobody actually touch typed outside of those lessons - most of us didn't in them either. It's uncomfortable for me to reach the bottom row with my fingers on the home keys. Usually I assume a typing position with my palms in the stickers on my laptop (they came with it and I daren't take them off) and my fingers up in the air, my right hand lower down than my left. I love the sound my fingers make across the keys :)
Umm... That's a lot of stuff there, very informative!
Took me half of a year with pc's to be able to do this
To be quite honest. I think that most of Facepunch can touch type.
Good thread though.
FPSes taught me to touch type. I rest my fingers on WASD.
Also anyone that types an excessive amount, I highly HIGHLY suggest you get an IBM Model M keyboard. I'm using one from 1984 right now and it's the best keyboard I have ever owned. Super durable, nice and heavy to not slide around, the keys go "click clicky", and it has the most perfect feel of any keyboard I have ever typed on. No windows key to screw up your fullscreen games either.
Fuck ASDF, because of PC gaming for 3-4 years now my home home keys for my left hand are WASD.
FUCK touch typing. I use two fingers on each hand and type at 80-100 WPM.

Same, Mine came from an old cashier terminal :D, complete with removable lead...
That is If I can find It within my pile of stuff, I stopped using it because even though clickety-clack is nice, it isn't always] nice.
I haven't looked at the keyboard when I type since 4th grade when I had a week long typing class
lol i type faster not using the home row, i fucking hate typing like that, its very annoying to type that way
I can touch type. I got around 100WPM on Type Racer, and 90WPM on the challenge. I hate the challenge because it's just random words, it never makes sense.

The removable lead is awesome, as are the removable keycaps.
My roommate fucking hates me because of the clickCLACK though, but I don't give a shit. I love my Model M. I originally bought it off ebay and the guy refunded my money and shipped it anyway because he forgot about it.
They taught me this in grade 4.
I can touch type, but I don't use the home keys.
I've been using a keyboard for so long I just don't have to look at it anymore, or restrict myself to the home keys and assigning fingers to keys or any of that shite. I just stare at the page and my fingers know where to go.
I don't even think about it, I just do it. I can type with my eyes closed.
I look at the keyboard when I type. When I look at the keyboard then I barely make any mistakes so this works fine for me.
I can type fine without looking at the keyboard I just don't like doing it like that.
My typing teacher during my hs typing classes made us type paragraphs from online sites. When he wasn't looking I just searched google for some of the sentences and found the original article, and copy pasted. I thought I was so clever until I copied a 3 page article in 5 seconds and he found out.
Lol this is cool. I usually don't look at the keys unless I mess up continuously meaning my fingers are in a very weird place.

You played against horrible people
I can type like this without the ASDF JKL; crap. It's effective enough where I can type at about 80WPM with one hand. I never look at the keyboard unless it's in an unnatural position, like where I always miss repeatedly.
This is pretty easy.. I use only my pointers middles and mah ring occasinally.
I remember in my computers class at Jr High my teacher was explaining touch typing to us. He gave us the big sheets of random words to type out. I was always first one done using the home row thing. After a while I got bored and started typing like I normally do. He sees this and gets pissed. So he says "You know what? I think you've been cheating." and gave me five more. I was able to finish all five using the touch typing bullshit before most people finished their one. My teacher didn't give me shit anymore.
