My experience is that for some reason in 4th grade everyone had like 60wpm in Type to learn but in high school everyone was typing at like 2wpm using one finger
I can touchtype, it makes everyone in my class cream their pants, pretty much.
I've even been asked to finish typing their stories for them.
I've been touch typing for several years now. My speed is okay but I do make a lot of errors.
I type 100wpm without looking at the keyboard with no mistakes.
:smug:
I can type accurately and very fast (140wpm+) and I don't use the fucking hands placement at all. It's uncomfortable for me. I always got bad grades in typing class because the bitch teacher didn't recognize that I was typing at 140wpm with 100% accuracy, all she knew was HAND PLACEMENT. Annoyed the fuck out of me.

Took a class in school for this. Easiest A in my life and I learned a valuable skill.
Touch Typing Technology don't know SHIT about touch typing.
And on Sesshomaru-'s side, getting bad grades for that is as stupid as getting bad grades for writing with your left hand instead of your right hand. You should have fought for your grades.

Agreed, grew up with computers and around the age of 8 It just became the norm, WPM of course has increased over the years though
Who the hell looks at their keyboard to type anymore, other than my parents.
Haha olny idiots have to look at the keyboard while typing.
everytime i think about not looking i look but i usually don't look.
My school attempted to teach the standard way of touch-typing, but I have invented my own way based on intuition. I get around 97 WPM, except when hitting numbers.

You should try it.
My home keys are wasd. I think I play too many games.

:iceburn:
My home keys are based on what I'm doing. If I'm browsing and generally navigating it's usually on alt+tab, if I'm gaming it's WSAD, if I'm currently typing its asdf jkl;
I can;u trsllu tyoe without loiioking at the ketvoays.
That's me trying to type something without looking at the keyboard.
Didn't we all learn this when we were in what, first grade? I never typed with the correct fingers and I typed faster the teacher herself, and she'd get all pissy and threaten to send me out
I don't type like this. I look at the keyboard. Still, I average about 65 WPM.
I suck at copying things down.
I sicl at cppying thinks dpw,.
The second one was me typing without looking.
I hate typing properly, it just makes my fingers hurt and i never hit the right keys. I just use my index fingers for keys and my thumb for the spacebar, and I type like 60WPM. Fuck proper typing.
cant touch type for shit but I can type fast cause i just move fast across the keyboard lol

I can also type with my eyes closed but not the proper finger positioning I do it how I want to and it works great lol
by touch type i mean using the correct home keys and shit.
Who the fuck uses home keys?

I can touch type. By Gamer instinct, i rest my hands on wasd, enter and space.

I've been on a computer for 16 years and type as fast as I can talk.
I use 2 fingers for typing. It's probably not the most perfect way of typing but it's the only way I can go between like 10 different keyboards in a day without having to figure everything out again.
I can type 1 handed pretty well too, although I use pretty much a similar system to touch typing for it, except my hand can stretch over most of a keyboard without moving it. (I have small hands, just really flexible.)
I usually use 3 fingers on my left hand and then only the middle and pointer on my right hand to type
I almost never look at the keyboard when I'm typing these days. Only when I need to change from alphabet to numpad or use some of the more obscure keys do I look down.
I have around a 120wpm speed. Everyone was amazed in school, too. They thought their 40wpm speed was impressive. :smug:
Was taught this in school. I cannot do this, I have my fingers randomly placed around the keyboard, hitting the right letter 88% of the time.
I have a class in my school called "Computer Apps" which is a fancy word for "Typing Class". I didn't know it was all typing until I got there. I'm the fastest typer there. I finish class in half the time the other people get to finish. :clint:
