Meh, I think Jon was using pretty bad arguments in this case, so I can see why he was called out on it. He was on TotalBiscuit's Co-optional Podcast yesterday pretty soon after that twitter storm, and they argued a bit about the topic. Jon has the right intentions, but TotalBiscuit made a good point that Twitter is shit for discussing these things. So in the end, Jon is cool, Tim is cool, and Twitter is a shit medium for discussing anything of significance.

I dunno how to call it even, bunch of memes slapped on a fun shooter for good measure. It's sad to see how unprofessional many people in gaming industry are.

When one of them speaks against an anti-Quinn person like Jon, the resulting twitter/comment posts are almost never polite discussions or thought-provoking opinion dialogues. They almost always boil down to name-calling, shit-flinging idiocy, with comments that can be shortened to "(Anti-Quinn Personality) IS A MISOGYNIST FAGET, LOLOLOL XDDDD". Meanwhile, all of the people against Quinn seem to be making posts and comments which are actually rational, calm and inviting to polite discussion. The anti-Quinn big names also seem to be more capable of defending their position in a collected and opposition-accepting manner, whereas the pro-Quinn folk just continually look like irrational idiots and discredit their opponents rather than discussing anything. I mean, I understand that there have to be[B] some[/B] forms of polite, intellectual and understanding discussion coming from the pro-Quinn side, but I personally have yet to see even [B]one[/B]. I'm certain the shit-flinging idiots aren't the entirety of the pro-Quinn side's ranks, but they seem to be far more numerous than a mere vocal minority. On the bright side though, it's both hilarious and horrifying to watch and see which game devs/reviewers/"journalists"/etc. are calm and willing to debate their points reasonably even if it means "losing", and which ones instantly become whiny children whose only tactic is yelling "YOU SUCK, I'M RIGHT BECAUSE I'M RIGHT" as loud as possible.

For me, there are idiots on both sides. Jon's an idiot for letting it all start in the first place. I'm not saying he shouldn't have and argue his opinions, but because he has people are arguing with him when he makes a point about these issues. The SJW side are idiots for arguing all of this for so long. They have the right to argue against his points, but for hours after he made the statement? Not really. And Jon's fanatics side (not fans, the more crazy ones) are idiots for arguing against the SJW side. I'm pretty sure #IStandWIthJontron was made by one of these fanatics and it's been spreading ever since. They're part of the reason why this has argued on for so long, because neither side can shut up about it. Myself? #IStandWithGanondorf . He's a powerful, charismatic man, yet he gets so much hate for trying to pursue an idealized world for himself. Despite all his detractors, I'm with him 100%.
