tumblr sjws have a trend of calling everyone who disagrees with them a, ahem 'shitbaby' and always refer to 'male tears lol cry moar' when theyre the ones bawling their eyes out.
i wish there wasnt any drama i just want things 2 be happy
Sadly we don't live in that world.
We live on an eternal playground, where there is no debating, no discuissing, no mediating. Just two sides, one that likes, and one that doesn't like. You're not allowed to sit on the fence, or just no be a part of it.
And both sides have the same thought process.
"You're either with US, or against US!"
it's funny to see neil c going hard on jontron when got called out and permabanned on SA for being a huge asshole to absolutely everyone and unable to take criticism lmao
I love the stuff Neil does and I've been a huge fan of him for years but jeez he can be so preachy and judgemental sometimes

My friend played in Superbad and actually knows the guy. Maybe I can arrange a trip for Neil and JonTron to wrestle it out in a CAGE MATCH ONE TIME ONLY ONE LEAVES THE RING WINNER TAKES ALL
But seriously my friend has his number and everything and I need to pitch my ideas to Neil, including marriage.
lmao x2 the irrelevant shithead behind yu-gi-oh abridged has decided to throw his hat in the ring just to call a small bit of attention to himself

What the fuck is even this discussion anymore.
It's just a bad trend with shitty cameos of e-celebs.

What does that even mean?
What does that even mean?
Some stupid as hell joke SJWs did saying that not all men is an stupid argument when its fucking true. The whole not all men meme is fucking stupid and infurates me because thats the card all SJWs pull when they are backed in an corner because they are whiney pissbabies.
What does that even mean?
It means not everyone is a persian hunk of man like jontron :v:
I really hope this whole situation subsides soon but I doubt that's going to happen with all the attention JonTron has amassed.
snipped
Ever since all of this shit started (and kept rolling into a bigger shit ball sprouting smaller shit balls to roll and gain mass), JonTron really, to me, seems like the only person that's making any sense whatsoever when he decides to say anything. Hell, he's not being a complete fucking prick at all, because he doesn't have to get angry to back himself up, because he THINKS before he fucking opens his mouth.
I mean shit im all for being polite, but saying retard and doing a little poke of a joke with the word shouldnt lead to death threats and even worse name calling. Honestly tired of political correctness out the ass lately for saying certain words or people getting offended for other people. Even recently its been revealed that all the SJW movement is bullying people to join your group, or face extreme backlash for not doing so. I was bullied most of my time in school, but holy fuck these people have skin like wet tissue paper before someone cries and screams for the horde to sick em.

You might want to look at the dates of those messages.

the legitimate part of complaining about guys saying 'not all men' is that it's a terrible argument to bring up in a conversation about experiences and cultural issues- for instance, if someone mentions that it's a problem where you could get roofied at a party or complaining about an ex boyfriend being exploitative/a creep/whatever, you'd get dumb guys showing up to say "Not all men are like that, I'd treat you right!"
It became a meme because it was used badly, admittedly more than not. No shit not all men do that, but that doesn't mean someone's experiences and fears of the ones who ARE a threat are any less justified; it isn't like you can tell who is a threat, and going out of your way to tell someone you're trustworthy is a fast route to proving you aren't.
However, the use of "not all men" as a jab at men who are participating in the discusison is a toxic derailment and willingfully ironic misrepresentation of feminist values. The person using it that way should be dismissed just as hard as they're trying to do to others.
Recent example, among many:
I was labeled by some as a SJW, because I was against angered gamers posting nudes of Zoe Quinn because I thought it was distracting from the cause of shedding light on biased journalism, while giving Quinn supporters ammunition to justify their blanket judgment of the gaming community.
I was labeled a misogynist and a bigot for taking issue with biased response articles void of fact with a clear intent to incite anger from the gaming community in order to back up their claims of riotous mobs. I'd made no mention of Zoe or feminism.
I was labeled a dick sucker for tweeting a friend about how I believed extremists on both sides were cherry-picking specific comments in order to "prove" their points and rally support.
If you don't pick a side, the extremists are going to assign you one. You're either with them all the way, or you're against them. What really frustrates me, is that I believe both sides are fully aware of how they are playing on the emotions of their audiences and using that as leverage to further their personal agendas and snuff out any opposing views, no matter how calm or sound or logical or genuine in its attempt to create a dialogue. "CALM AND LOGICAL? LOOK AT THIS! YOU CALL THIS CALM AND LOGICAL??!! PFFFT" ... is a common deflection, pointing at examples from opposing extremes, completely ignoring and avoiding a civil discussion from those who just want everyone to stop shouting and fucking talk.
There are many cases of this happening at this moment, far beyond the twitter-sphere. ISIS, Ferguson, the White House... and in many cases, it seems apparent that unless you're willing to completely give in to one side, believe completely and with no doubt or debate that the side you chose is the right one, the only one ... no one cares what you think, because you're not "right" enough or "wrong" enough to garner their attention. But as a general default... yer wrong.

So why does Starlight 456 keep rating things dumb or funny
sweet, so the thing I posted about last night was on point? I've been seeing a whole lot of the usual blind anger and shit that didn't add up lately, this was the only post that actually explained why anybody was being pissy

"Hey look, Jon made a mistake on the internet!"
I think the reason we need to focus a little more on women's representation in media over men's (not that both aren't important) is that while men are overwhelmingly shown as overmuscular beefcakes (i.e., a power fantasy created more often than not by male developers with a male audience in mind, women are overwhelmingly shown as delicate sex objects (i.e., a submissive sex fantasy created, more often than not, by male devs with a male audience in mind etc). Yes, it's unhelpful for individual men to be told they have to be strong and aggressive and that they're not allowed to have emotions, but it's a slightly lesser issue than the depiction of women for a bunch of reasons. The 'men should be dominant' image we have is the root cause of a bunch of issues, from men thinking they have a right to certain things over women (sex, primarily), as well as the fact that men haven't been socially/sexually/etc oppressed for the entire history of the western world like women have (and still are, when there is instututionalised sexism resulting in women being less likely to get hired over men in most industries, etc), which means that in a zero sum view of the current balance of social power, men have far, far more power in politics, commerce, industry, etc, than men.
Guys get shit for 'acting like a girl' if they show weakness and emotions. Not simply that they're weak, but that their weakness means they are acting like a girl; thus stating that to be weak is to be a women, and to be a woman is to be weak. The solution for this (and the solution that helps both men and women) is to focus on how we're treating, representing and thinking about women in the real world and through media. You make the stereotypical depiction (and thus shared mental image) of women to be something other than the generic weak/submissive/irrational/emotional/there-to-be-a-sex-object image that we have in the majority of today's media, and it's no longer a bad thing for men to express emotions or not be super brave or strong - because it's no longer a negative/lesser thing to be more feminine. And, likewise, women who have short hair or act more masculine or are muscular don't get looked down on, called 'butch' or 'bitches' for being assertive, etc, because they're no longer going against the stereotypical media representation of their gender.

Probably because he either thinks they're dumb or funny.
But we already knew Anthony Burch was a huge asshole already.
This is like this umpteenth time he's pulled something like this.
I've heard of him doing shit once in a while, but are there any specific examples that stick out? I hope you don't mind me asking because I've seen tumblrites call him an asshole but with no real backing of it.

To be honest, I don't follow him close enough to name any SPECIFIC instances, but I know the only reason I even know who he is is because I've seen him have similar temper tantrums on Twitter before.
Weird I genuinely thoughr Borderlands 2 was well written I thought it was hilarious and I loved that it didn't take itself to seriously. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
I thought the vanilla game had some good writing, I mainly liked Handsome Jack, but there were quite a few issues in it that I didn't expect from a Borderlands game.
That fucking "fake gamer guys" quest in the DLC was so ham-fisted and stupid. What did making Lilith a DnD nerd do to the story besides "Accusing people of being fake gamerz is really baaaaaad guise"?
I hugely respect Jon for standing through all of this, he's got a real backbone, that's for sure

Ohh, I gotcha. Thank you for your answer, it's a shame he behaves this way since I enjoyed Borderlands 2 and love his sister's voice acting.

His sister is pretty fucking radical, from what I gather.
She's the only thing I like about the english dub of Attack on Titan.

There's two sides I see to it, with a middle-ground. Sometimes, people say 'not all men' to pretend that bad shit doesn't happen to women at the hands of men sometimes, but then dumbasses take that phrase and pointlessly spew it in meme form whenever people defend men in any situation, they'll spew some shit like "you must be an MRA get back to your mgtow cave" and then it just gets stupid
Whatever happened to the days when all we cared about was whether our toasters could run Crysis on medium? I miss videogames being videogames :(

This. This this this. Everybody is bound to have a range of differing opinions with small differences in each area of, well, anything. Sometimes, I'm afraid to contribute to debates or discussions about things such as social justice or whatever, because I fear either being labelled misogynistic or something in that area, or I fear being labelled a 'SJW'. Blanketing people never gets anything right, and people seem to love assigning other people to whatever they see fit.
I can't tell if this tweet is related to the whole affair or not.

could this mean it's a publicity stunt for the next episode of youtubers react to: the r-word?
