Making of Nostalgia Critic: Maximum Overdrive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weQ36XE3zqc
Really weird that they didn't actually film the opening scene at Doug's, since they don't live that much apart from each other (Doug Walker is in Chicago, Jon is in New York). Besides, it really bugs me how damn amateurish Doug Walker is when making stuff. They used an actual fucking knife for that scene, flaying it around and dropping it point first - despite being totally able to buy a prop knife that's not that much of a fucking safety hazard.

That's incredibly cheaper. And them using an actual knife isn't the biggest deal. I'm sure they're smart enough to not let it fall anywhere it'd hurt someone.
Someone should make a gif of that skeleton on the couch that slowly turns its head toward Jon as he speaks, that was pretty funny.
Like this?

And it's not new news that Doug is amateurish. Kickassia is a huge testament to that.

"human 1995" You can't fool me, scissor man.
Best episode of the year. Every time it looks like Jon has hit the top, he outdoes himself. It's incredible.
I dunno, I still think that Anti-Drug Games might have been the best one this year.
The Clock Tower one is shorter and it's got a lot of good jokes right at the start. It's surely less constant than Anti-Drug games, but eh, I prefer horror games.
Also the halloween is the sexiest thing ever. Dat majora's mask Jon.
EDIT: Am I stupid or something, why doesn't the spoiler tag work?

The key is sp and /sp [add square bracket obv].
[sp][/sp] are the proper tags
Weird, I'd swear spoiler tags have worked for me before. Anyway, i think that the SECOND best video of this year is the Merch one. I just love the Coffee song too much. Obviously there are still 2 videos to see...but nothing beats Coffee Song.
I'd love for Jon to do more reviews of just weird, non-video game stuff. Like, one of my favorite videos of his is definitely the Goosebumps two-parter. It's half book, half TV retrospective. Like, that's nutty. He should do a thing about those "choose your own adventure" DVDs. Like, I think there was one that involved a yeti or something, that shit'd be dope.
Drunk Jon.
Ah, yes, the three things Jon is best at. Video games, humor, and getting drunk. :v:
More drunk Jon!
More drunk Jon!
oh lordy~ the love is everywhere

The Candy Corn vomit doesn't sound the greatest, but it was worth it.

what is gamergate
I'm not even sure anymore it's been stated differently so many times...
Who cares
http://vine.co/v/OhEBuMeVTIz Jon chimes in on the GG controversiesiesies
this is me
I prefer not to get caught up in the whole GamerGate thing, it's too much of a goddamn headache to even think about. I just want to, y'know, play video games, like we're all supposed to.
I absolutely hate how it's called "pro"-gamergate and "anti"-gamergate. Like you don't call someone who suppports Nixon's actions "anti-watergate", it doesn't make any sense. You can't support or oppose to a scandal, but you can support/oppose to the actions involved in the scandal.
So many people believe in the absoluteness of binary, thinking that if you're not zero, you're one, and vice versa. When in all actuality, there is supposed to be zero, one, and not even being part of the equation. Just as some devs believe that there are only those who buy their games and those who don't, when there are in fact people who weren't even a factor in the equation to begin with, both sides of this pissing contest believe you're either with them or against them, with no concept of non-participants or bystanders who don't even care about this shit and just want to play video games. So in the current situation, there's "Pro-GamerGate", "Anti-GamerGate", and "Fuck all of this I just wanna play Might & Magic and watch Doctor Who", which is the group I am in.
I found GamerGate to be just a way of people who hate each other to talk to each other about it, so later each side can talk behind their backs and laugh at what the opposing side did or said. internet drama
