That episode of Board James was pretty dark, especially with the ending. You think it's gonna be just another wacky board-game, but then it turns into a slasher film.
The video takes place at a studio.
Has Jon actually used an official studio in his previous videos or is this the first time? I have a feeling that this new project might lead to something somewhat big, but I might be exaggerating.
It's probably for a side-project, though if he actually owns a studio now that'd be pretty cool too.

Someone did mention in the comments that the studio looked a lot like Mega64's studio.
I guess that means that Mega64 might be making a video with JonTron involved.
My bet is that he is somehow involved with Yooka-Laylee.
Hopefully a voice actor.

That's what I was thinking, with him saying him working on a [i]project[/i] that we will find out about soon, and it was posted on the same day just hours after the reveal of what project ukulele actually is, especially with all the love he has for banjo-kazooie.

Jesus, it was so weird to see actual production value. Amazing stuff.
I liked the video, but it didn't have that 'Jontron' energy that you can see in some of his other videos. hopefully that won't be too big of a problem in the next installment

To me, it's the same "energy" but evolved and expanded with less limitations.
Definitely a drastic and (personally) welcomed improvement.
I still wonder why Jon hasn't released an album yet. The guy can clearly sing fucking good, hell I'd pay to listen to a whole album of Meatloaf covers done by Jon
