starcade was genuinely good. it was seriously so good. if that were a TV series i would watch and/or TiVo every episode. the scripting was good and the subject matter was humorous. it delved into the warm and fuzzy parts of my gaming hear in similar ways that LGR does without overstepping into cliche or corny territory. well done jon. very well done

also, I could noticeably tell that jon was slightly less up to his usual antics, but i feel like it was a byproduct of the filming environment and i was completely okay with the compromise made for the quality of the episode that just got put out.
I hope he'll cover the old Lucas Learning games. I wonder how many young kids played solely those games and Rollercoaster Tycoon because those were the only games you could get from the school book order.
I enjoyed it but only like 5 minutes of it was actually talking about games. I do love Jon's humour and intros but in ratio to the length of the video this just had way too much fluff, like it got to Nostalgia Critic levels of fluff.
But I guess they wanted to get the best out of the set, which is cool as the set is very cool. Like really cool. Though as a result it slightly lacked that shambolic energy you sometimes get with Jon because it looked so slick. For me the real appeal of Jon has been how it felt like a deconstruction of the typical reviews, this felt very much like AVGN presented by Jon.

Unlike the Nostalgia Critic though, Jon's fluff is actually interesting and fun to watch, as apposed to annoying and teeth grindingly, tar and molasses covered slow crawl.

But that big guy only has so much influence on the companies down the chain, and that influence decreases pretty rapidly the further down you get. I am pretty confident that Disney has absolutely no influence on Jontron's stuff
