I know I'm alone on this thought but Jon's vids have been really hit and miss for me with these past 4 videos (I do love the Valiant Hearts one though). I mean they're all entertaining don't get me wrong, just not as entertaining. It just seems like he isn't putting as much into them as he usual does. You can tell because of how toned-down he is in terms of energy then usual JonTron.

Soon enough, the same kind of humor repeats over and over and you become desensitized to it, but you still have the nostalgia over the old videos because they were funnier to you then.

Also, the post above has a very good point. What I do notice personally (and find more irritating) is the huge lack of Jacques in his later videos. I know Jon is the main focus of the show but I'd like to see a higher amount of Jacque action like in his older videos.

I like Jon because he's usually spastic and energetic and actually sounds like he's putting a lot into the game (even if he really isn't) thus warranting his overly enthusiastic and emotional reactions which are usually hilarious. There's a lot less of that going on in his videos as of late, at least that I can see. Well, I remember California Games having him admonishing Jon for hitting a gull, but squirmed a little when Jon held him like an icecream cone. And of course let's not forget the more recent bit where Jon got double-laser-bird-flipped, then said "Two can play at THAT game" and unleashed an avian energy weapon Final Smash.

Personally, I've always preferred his more in depth videos. The more games he covers the more, I dunno', diluted it feels. I just get introduced to a game and we're already moving on to the next one - and before I know it the video is over. Still a good video - just not one of my favourites.

He sings a part of a song from Les Miserables, a musical that's very highly regarded, and says "oh that's from Mama Mia," which is a musical that... I don't believe it's desensitization at all; he really seemed to just not give a fuck. Him being retardedly angry/goofy is what drives the jokes he makes. It's almost like he was really tired or was holding back for some reason, when we're used to him going all out. That being said, it's probably relevant to the whole ordeal that I [i]cleverly[/i] referenced two sentences ago. To be honest though, to a random person, I probably wouldn't apologize for saying retard. But at the same time, I'm not Jon, and I don't think trying to justify it was the right course of action. He should've just left it be if he truly thinks he was in the right, rather than defending his right to say retarded.

Maybe he just didn't have all that strong a passion for the subject matter, making it harder for him to work his magic? I'd wager he'd probably be all up and singing Katy Perry songs if he was reviewing something from Rare, or just generally covering something he harboured a great passion for, whether undying love for a classic or unending hatred and despair for a truly terrible title in a long line of good games.
