Been awhile since i watched this. I started when the show first came out then stop around the middle/end of season 2. I plan on catching back up here sometime soon. One the best shows i have seen in awhile.

I remember how [sp]I completely froze up when I first heard the first gunshot, when Christina killed Lundy[/sp]. I teared up instantly, I didn't expect it at all. Sadly I knew [sp]that Rita died[/sp] since season 1, so the finale wasn't a surprise to me.
Just finished the 4th season. I'm 100% sure the ending would be huge fucking surprise if I didn't know it already. Even then it was still sad for me.
I just watched trailer for season 5 and can't decide how much I look forward to it. It's gonna be wild for sure. Dexter acting all [sp]broken, unstable and most importantly Quinn turning into new goddamn Doakes.[/sp]

After reading the books, I'm not sure how interested I am in the show. The story lines have deviated a ridiculous amount.
Are they following the books a lot? I think in the last interview on Comic-Con they said they weren't following the book's storyline too much or this season.

The pilot follows the first book pretty much to the letter, but after that the differences are huge. Pretty much only the first season holds any similarities to the books at all.

I read the first book in one sitting (stuck in a car ride to California,) there were some things I didn't like about it but it was okay. I decided to check out the 2nd season of the show and I liked it better than the book. I'm planning on renting season 3 this weekend.
I just watched 'hungry man' and oh my fucking god.
