[editline]27th November 2012[/editline]

i kind of wonder why we call him ghost dad and ghost doakes etc
theyre not really ghosts!! they are imaginary that is not the same thing as ghost
Because Ioakes and Iarry are a little weird to pronounce.

everything about this just screams why season 1 is so much better
it's so filmic
Agreed.
Season 1 will always be the best, sadly.
Not to say the other seasons aren't good though. I personally enjoyed the fuck out of season 4, John Lithgow was amazing.

laguerta motherfucker
It's sad they [sp]killed Isaak so early but I kind of liked it wasn't Dexter who did it. The circumstances could have been thought out better though.[/sp] What's worse is how they introduced this arson killer plot. Feels so forced and unnecessary, if they knew how to write they could just focus on LaGuerta's investigation (even though I hate her).

Sorry I just put my glasses on right now, oh yes.

It only takes one episode and we have this arsonist investigator who no one remembers, referred to as the Phantom killer in the elevator by Dexter.
God I hate it how such a good series has taken a huge drop in quality of directing/writing.

Early on you could tell that Dexter was just humoring people by acting normal. Him and Doakes' babbling was so much fun to watch. I miss that.
It's like a different show now.

I'd forgotten how much I loved the first season until I watched that, Dexter's sense of humour has vanished since then.
Wow.
Season 1 is like a different show.

"Hey Sergeant, thanks for supporting the bowling team"
"Fuck you"
'its your wet dream in there'
Man that makes this season look terrible even though i thought it was good, i guess in contrast to the previous it was. I really want dexter to lose all his feels and just go back to stone cold dex. I want Hannah to disappear and it to be more like season 1. Before he spent most time at work and then did other shit when it was available, now it feels like he just blows off work whenever and it doesn't matter.
Also he stabbed that guy in pure daylight, and just because it was out of Miami PD's jurisdiction doesn't mean he can't be caught? His code was there so he wasn't caught for killing and he just completely forgot about it. the writers are getting lazy.

I just want to watch Season 1 again. Cuz it ain't never gonna be like that agian. rip dexter

Remember that part, I think it was in season 2, where dexter headbutts doakes and just walks away calmly into the middle of the station and doakes runs in and tackles him to the ground
god fuck he was so smart then why is dexter such a big dummy now
has anyone else just thought dexter has been a huge fuckin retard for like 3 seasons

I think after Rita they should've just not had him do anything romantic. After Rita there really was never any attempt at him doing things "just to fit in."

Well there is this notorious hitman that uses knives after me, I'm going to walk out onto a boat in broad daylight and let him follow me up there. Oh, it's all going to be fine because even though he has a knife and is known for killing people with it, I'm going to bring my own knife .. That'll ensure my victory!

[sp]It was stated a few times that the whole point of that was to lure him to Isaak, Dexter and Isaak knew that, and so did George and the hitman. Thats why George told him to follow dexter to get to Isaak in the first place. [/sp]
I think one could also factor Dexter's insane overconfidence into the matter. I'm sure he thought that he could take the assassin one on one if he had to.
They had alot of potential with that episode and didnt fulfill it. They shouldve had [sp]Isaak playing an angle on Dexter, using him to get the Hitman off his back[/sp], and then get dexter. It wouldve worked out for [sp]Hannah still since she killed Jurg and Deb finds her[/sp], and we couldve had a great [sp]fight and awesome table scene, with Isaak ending up out in the ocean[/sp] still, just like he wanted.

I think the best Quote to show how dexter feels now, is from episode 3 where he says to Debra "Everything is in my control". Obviously we know it isn't, and it exemplifies how he's been acting this season.

I'm on the same boat, but I come to terms with the fact they damaged Dexter beyond repair. This newest season seems to finally be decent (but nowhere near the first 4) but unfortunately these last episodes with Hannah are hurting it again. Is it just me or there is no chemistry between Dexter and her?
They should have decided on set number of seasons early on. I'm still sad how season 5 turned out. The first episode was so promising only to do 180° turn the next.

Season 5 had great potential, all they had to do was have Dexter kill Lumen by episode 5 and feel guilty for it, for the first time just like he did with Rita, and he could have still gone after the Barrel Girl rapists
The season was advertised as the one where Dexter gets of the rails. Then shit happened after the first episode.
They could have entirely omitted season 6 and have deb catch dex for real at the end of season 5, but instead it was just a cocktease that would waste another whole season to get to the point that anyone can start to care about again
yeah dexxe for sure should have stopped trying in the love department when rita died - that should have been a bigger blow to him and scarred him more. he should have stayed smart though, not gone off the rails. just hardened and with a narrowed focus and a few new outlooks. like 'i am not meant to have a partner' and he should still be pretending to fit in and he should still have had a sense of humor. that was one of the things that made him so lovable - he's so cold, but he was also really quick and when he's pretending to be normal he could be pretty funny. the whole 'i don't have feelings but i do' thing was really terrible. he can have development, but you know. serial killer sociopath development. not becoming normal development. he's barely a serial killer anymore. the whole need to kill feels so shoehorned in at this point. he doesn't pretend to be normal, he just acts normal and does normal stuff. it's not a show anymore. his character is warped beyond repair.
It is truly upsetting when the show was so great the first 4 seasons
