In the book without his Dark passenger Dexter couldnt even kill. In this case I think it's dexter abandoning the code
I know I've said this before and I probably sound like a broken record, but the first book had that really cool idea that maybe dexter was the Tamiami Slasher. Why they decided to go down weird is beyond me.

That last episode didn't even seem like he was trying to be less annoying. Hell, like he had bed head the entire episode.

I thought the whole lying to Patista thing was being the "idiot of the show deal", i mean, there's only so much 'play by his own rules Quinn" before it tends to be a tad grindy on the nerves, just my opinion though.

Watch, the writers will have a super twist for next season:
[sp]LaGuerta finds out Dexter is a serial killer, and spends season 8 killing people so she can having something in comming with Dex, and get in Dexter's pants, like she's wanted to since the shows beginning. The season ends with them two getting married and riding Dex's boat off into the sunset.
Oh, and Hannah gets thrown off the boat at some point. Probably by LaGuerta out of jealousy. Actually, that entire plot point would play out like an episode of Real Housewives. Season 8 will have less of Dex and murder, and more of LaGuerta and Hannah trying to out bitch each other and throwing snappy one liners at each other[/sp].
Best ending ever.
