Stop using spoiler tags for stuff like this. If people aren't caught up they shouldn't be reading this thread beyond the OP. Freely talk about season 4 end/season 5.
I see.
fuck i hate quin why can't we have doakes back FUCK QUIN I WANT DOAKES
[editline]11:17PM[/editline]
or another black cop
that's what this show's missing
more black detectives
I loved Doakes more than any other character in any show started ion the 00's. Except John Locke, because that guys awesome is on another level. Quinn is ok, but he's just a pretender to the throne.
His anger and frustration after the bludgeoning scene. Amazing. At least he's feeling something. Where he kept the mickey hat on while explaining what happened to Rita made the scene perfect. It really shows how lacking in emotions Dexter really is.
Overall the episode had some really powerful and emotional scenes. It was a wonderful start to another awesome season.
I did the math and found out that Iäve been waiting for 5% of my entire life (rounded up) for this episode, can't say I'm dissapointed.
Edit:
time waited / my age (in days) = % of life spent waiting
284 / (365.25*15+330) = 0,0489655.... ~ 0,05 = 5%
A bit disappointed but I know it will get better in mid-season perhaps
I keep seeing people say they are disappointed, but what the fuck did you expect? I mean they have to bring closure to what happened to Rita. They can't just skip over all that. It was an awesome character episode, and if you think otherwise you should stop watching good TV and go watch something mindless instead.
My biggest problem with the episode is that Debra's ugly face was in it for too long.
I did love Dexter telling the kids about Rita's death while wearing a Mickey Mouse hat, and when Dexter's father said "That was the most human thing I've seen you do since she died."
oh, and Astor. Astor needs to go away just like Debra. They're cramping Dexter's style.
Astor is annoying and a bad actor.
I think it was a great episode. Finally Dexter showed some emotions and I think the last line of the episode was meant for real but again only spoken in his mind as he still hides that kind of emotion.
Was a great start to the new season and the emotions played out pretty dam well. I just dislike Dexters yells at the end when he kill the guy.
I love the music in Dexter, I always feels so much sadness coming from it, and is especially apparent in this episode.
The fact he told the kids about [sp]Rita's death[/sp] while wearing that mickey mouse hat just had me laughing my ass off.

Goddammit, why did I click on the spoiler?
i wasnt disapointed or anything about the season start but, everything was so awkward. the way dexter seemed distant and wierd. it was almost like he took to long a break from dexter.
Amazing start to the season.
Cried a couple times during the ep.
Favorite scene is when Dexter broke down after killing that guy.
Kinda boring episode. I don't want a sad, confused Dexter, I want him to kill people. I doubt this new season can be as good as season 4.

Yes, but that is the whole point in the character Masuka.

She has been doing the same thing for three seasons, without any realization her actions, she just gets sad and cries about it. Hopefully with this idea that Dexter needs her to help him, she will develop more. Right now, she just fucks men, and then it bites her in the ass.
i like the subtle things that were said to make dexter's situation more awkward
"i'm sorry for your loss" and similar things.

He said that because he was trying to be like the guy at the Funeral home, He saw how he faked showing emotion and he tried to do the same.
What the fuck happened in that bathroom stall?

Oh wow, I never noticed that. That's kinda cool.
I dunno what you guys are going on about the drama. Season 5 has started off brilliantly, with drama that isn't all family or relationships.
I sure don't :smug:

You know you're a lonely person when all it takes to get you to like a shitty ugly neanderthal lookalike of a character is if they show a little leg.
The funeral home scene is ironic.
Because Michael Hall (Dexter) plays David in Six Feet Under who is a funeral director.
Heh.
