Q: But the next season’s going to air this summer, right?
A:We believe so, yes.
Did knowing that next season is your last help?
It might be the last. That hasn’t been announced yet. We’ve been picked up for one more season, but whether that is the last one or not has not yet been determined.
Let's hope it is.
Let's hope it is.
What happened to this?
Executive producer Sara Colleton confirmed that Season 8 will be the show's last season, saying, "We don't know what the final scene is, but we know where it's going. We know now exactly how it's going to end and how the series will end".
Also in terms of best to worst season for me, I'd say 1,2,6,4,7,5,3.
The only thing I liked about season 3 was Miguel.
Since we are listing our favourite seasons.
1
4
2
3
7
6
5
Yeah upon reading that little interview, I can't help but grit my teeth at the thought of Showtime extending the Dexter series for longer. I love Dexter. I really do. But even I feel like it's running a little dry now. I feel they are unnecessarily stretching the story arch out.
I definitely feel that season 5/6 could have been compressed into one semi-good season.
In terms of favourite seasons for me, it goes.. 1,4,2,3,7,5,6
Season 4 was just... outstanding. But I think that was due to John Lithgow's performance.
For me the order would be:
1
4
2
7
3
6
5
DexterDaily.com got some good stuff.
Also you all realize Jennifer did that scene where she goes to LaGuerta for a hug to cry, it's unscripted, it was her idea. D'awww..
Dexter Season 8 Episode 1 should be called The Beginning of The End, Not be confused with season 4 of Lost's title. Okay, confusing show, irony. And the fireworks turned to blood, symbolizing, that Deb's life will be sworn in blood or something.
And she'll come to terms to her reborn in the same way baby Dexter was found. Born in blood, where a family stays together, and slays together.
https://twitter.com/intent/retweet?tweet_id=281427878657261569 They're already writing season 8 already.
I feel like Deb's gonna lose emotions and be like Dexter, and where Dexter will evolve emotions.

My season 8 idea, because someone told me I used psychic powers on dexterdaily and thought it was somewhat of a good idea.
Episode 1: Whose The Killer Now? (or simply titled "The Beginning of The End" identical to the Lost title)
Description: Reeling from the aftermath of LaGuerta's death, Dexter must decide to help his sister from becoming a monster like himself. Debra decides whether to turn herself in for the murder of her friend, she puts aside having relationships to help herself. Meanwhile, Quinn and Jamie start a relationship which puts Dexter at risk once again of Quinn's suspicions. We start to learn about Dexter's mother though flashbacks. Captain Matthews start his new day as the new captain, when he reports a assassination plot towards a politician, which puts Dexter at the case of finding out who is gonna be responsible for his death, as he poses as a visitor at Governor Tanner's Office in Miami, but at the same time, promising Deb that he'll protect her after reports of LaGuerta's body was found along with Estrada's. Which puts Angel Batista's retirement at a halt to rethink Dexter's motives. Dexter wonders if he'll might try to locate Hannah or choose not to leave his sister's side. Or something, I don't know, Soder suggested it.
But you know, I don't want Angel or Quinn to start to get all suspicious, sounds too familar and over done.
Why rate it dumb? I just completely revealed what the whole season is about, except for the Tanner thing, my idea.

How anybody could like season 6 more than 4 is beyond me
How anybody could like season 6 more than 4 is beyond me
Because 4 was the only season I got bored watching. There's a difference between developing the plot meticulously and developing it really fucking slowly.

BLASPHEMY TO THE HIGHEST DEGREE!
To be honest, my favorite season would probably be Season 2. Even though it was kind of ruined for me because I knew there were seasons after it, it was the only one that I watched in a single day.
I just watched through all 7 seasons in 1 month. I finished just in time for the last episode too. Best month ever.
If he gets a spin off, it should be called "Couldn't Care Less".
Twist: By the end of each episode, [sp]he actually cares less[/sp].
lol I couldn't care less about LaGuerta, but I felt sorry for her at the end.
My last post was rated dumb, because they're jealous of my superior ideas for next season, because they're cowards of theory discussion ideas. And I'm more superior
When someone rates this post dumb. "NO YOU'RE STILL DUMB" - generic reply from you.
And my thoughts on Hannah, that'll she more deadlier next season, obviously because this season she was pulling off an act.
The only genuinely great seasons are 1 & 2, it's really not been a great show for ages. It's entertaining sometimes but it's just held up by Michael C. Hall being awesome.
1 is pretty perfect, very focused on Dexter and who he is.. also the cinematography is also crazy good in this one. Just the way the ice truck killings are laid out isn't really seen in any other season for some reason.
2 is really really good other than Lila being an annoying character, nice focus on Dexter and who he really is (Dark Defender) also Doakes.
3 was sorta boring at the start but the last few episodes (once Dex and Miguel start going at each other) are fantastic but this season is also where the dumb sideplots start getting annoying.
4 was shitty other than Lithgow.
5 was bad but could have been good. Lumen could have been interesting if they had a different actress and didn't basically make her pointless once she left. Jordan Chase could have been a cool villain, his actor is great.
6 was bad bad bad, nothing about it is good. nothing. Somehow ruined a character from 5 seasons ago (Brian)
7 was alright until Issac was killed then it felt like a different season smushed onto another one. Also annoying that they made LaGuerta pretty interesting with her confrontations with Dexter, shame it took 7 seasons to make her halfway decent.
Choose Debra's serial killer name, nao. If this really happens when Dex/Deb teams up.
The Bay Harbor Bitcher.
The way she blankly stares as she's being towed away with Dexter seems she lost some innocence, and reborn like Dexter was found with his dead mother.

It seemed more like she was just in shock
she's not gonna become a killer lol
Properly not, but who knows. Can't wait that the final season is gonna be eariler then excepted, or written early.
She may as well be listed as one anyway.
I mean, have any of the guys she's dated/been interested in ever make it out of a season alive?
It seemed more like she was just in shock

Duh
I liked how calm she was at the party though

I think it's actually possible that she could become a killer.
She might sympathize with him and start aiding him more and more until she finally "goes over to the dark side" :O

She did it because of Dexter, not because of some blood thirst
She did it because of Dexter, not because of some blood thirst
Hannah McKay killed because she had to and then she kept doing it because she liked it.
I don't see how this can't reflect to Debra aswell (because maybe she likes it secretly or some shit) and she might start killing too, also she wants to help Dexter so maybe that will be a big push aswell. But considering that she hates killing so much maybe not. We'll have to see what will happen.

It's soooo unlikely, how can you not see that?
Duh

She looked more like she was in unbelief and shock hence Dexter leading her through the party(needed some sort of an alibi)
It's soooo unlikely, how can you not see that?
Maybe he's one of their writers, and is trying to get us prepared for how bad next season will be?
LaGuerta has to be found by miami metro, otherwise they're just disappearances, and then it just shows that LaGuerta was going after dex and disappeared, looking more suspicious on dex's part. But if that happens then the ballistics will show that a 9mm Glock was used, and not Estradas revolver. I wonder how they're going to pull this one off.
Also can you guys say some of the plot holes you noticed in the finale? I'm curious if you guys spotted any i didn't.
I think this puts Batista on the trail to find out what happen/ or Quinn to get all suspicious again. Seeing as Quinn is gonna bone Jamie, he'll properly spend more time with her. Remember, he has photos of Dexter and Lumen still.
[sp]I fucking hate Quinn. Either do something with the "he knows about Dexter" storyline or write him out. I hate how he was all surprised about Dexter being accused of being the Butcher when he pretty much knows he killed whateverhisnameis
Also the fireworks ending sucked[/sp]
^ Huh? It symbolized blood.
It certainly makes their future together more killable. :P
It's soooo unlikely, how can you not see that?
Maybe, but that is just my theory on this whole situation.
