The random kill at the end was unexpected.
I have the feeling that Dexter's random killing of the guy at the end is gonna piss off a lot of fans.
What, am I the only one who expected the random killing?
The hinted several times in trailers and interviews that Dexter would become a careless guilt-ridden killing machine.

Anyone that didn't like that episode last night can fuck right off. It was awesome and the perfect closure for Rita's death. The season will pick up next week and starting getting into some action.

Yeah, but that's just the type of person Debra is. Can you really blame her for how she's acted in several parts over the last seasons? She's had to deal with quite a lot (Being kidnapped and almost killed, getting shot and watching Lundy die etc etc). Debra is definitely not one of my "favorites" but she's still a good character.
I thought the first episode was fantastic, this season is going to be great.

People have no respect for character episodes anymore it seems. All they want is action action action.
Dexter isn't even a show about action!

I guess not, but I would like to see a little development of her into a stronger person. Right now, she seems hurt, and it would be very uplifting to see her bring herself into an actual strong willed person,instead of a damaged, helpless puppy.

But she is a strong willed person. Look at how much she's improved as cop/detective since season 1. She was all over the Trinity investigation- Dexter wasn't holding her hand and dropping her tons of hints and clues like previous seasons.
The only problem I have with Deb is the awkwardness that is created when she starts crying. It looks so... faked for some reason. I can't help thinking she is acting everything up all the time.

I get that they're trying to portray her as an 'unpredictable teen' but fuck everything she does feels forced and wrong
for example in the latest episode when she flips out and runs away and yells at dexter. that wouldn't happen
a realistic scenerio for a childs reaction would to be in denial or go into shock
dexter would say she's dead, she should say 'dead?!' and just kind of sit there with her mouth open and letting the tears start flowing, just kind of sitting there with a gut wrenching expression

Dexter to me is all about the character development. To be honest, I much rather see how he deals with Rita's death than see him kill someone. Just seems more interesting to me.
But that's just me.

I agree, most of the time she swears like a sailor and gets fucked by old FBI spooks, crime suspects, murderers. Guess she can't get rid of the vice squad image. All in all she is okay, but now she is fucking Quinn. Sex scenes are okay but not if it's always the same character. [B]-snip-[/B] Anyway, I'm hooked again and thirstily awaiting the next episode.

I wouldn't say she killed Christine, she committed a suicide and I doubt if Deb forgave her she wouldn't do it.
How could I mess that up so bad, got confused with the books and the series, she is a lot different there. Anyway, I still think they should rework her, like they changed Dex to something better. Probably both of them lack some inner compass, that's why the keep messing things up.
