Season 3 was worse.
second part was decent though (on from ep6 to ep12)
at least season 3 progressed
at least season 3 progressed
You say that like the season is over.
Just finished season 2, was fucking good.
I used to like Weeds more than this show, but weeds got to extreme and dexter stayed awesome.
Also, while on the topic of Arthur Mitchell walking right into the Homicide Department and confronting Dexter, the fact that no one noticed blows my mind as Arthur was identified and if you'd recently seen him, it would click. You think at least person would have recognized him, and that security footage would have been reviewed. But no, nothing. Furthermore, what happened to all of Arthur's money from his closed bank accounts that Dexter hid from him when he left him in the van? We see that Dexter retrieved it and said he was going to give it to Arthur's family, but he didn't because the police raided the Mitchell's house. It all just disappeared? Also after Arthur was identified, you think the police would have used everything connected to a wanted serial killer that they could to track him down, including the vehicles in his name, even if they thought he had already skipped town. Even patrol officers I imagine would be given a vehicle make/model and a license plate number to help track him down. Instead, it seems as though Arthur's van was simply abandoned and unnoticed in a bank parking garage (incidentally, the same one Dexter was arrested at by the sheriff's department...), and Arthur was free to ride out of town in his Mustang without any concern of being caught. And when his Mustang broke down in the middle of nowhere and Dexter ambushed him, presumably Dexter took him back to the kill site in the same car. Even though they had to have been hours away from Miami at that point, Dexter had no concern about driving all the way back in an identified serial killer's vehicle with his body in the car? And what did he do with the car when he was done? I was so fucking hyped for this season, because they could have made it EPIC with all the mistakes Dexter made last season. It makes me sad that the writers didn't go down this road. Even if they did it wouldn't mean that Dexter would be pinned for anything. He had an alibi (raiding his house) and if he had met with the family and given them the money, chances are they would have protected him and wouldn't identify his as Butler. The writers took every easy way out: Get rid of Astor and Cody by sending them to grandparents, Giving the Trinity case to the FBI, Hiring a nanny for Harrison, Occupying Quinn with Debra instead of his investigation, Sending the Mitchell's to a safe house, Giving Dexter something to worry about other than Rita (Lumen) and moving the focus on to other plot lines (that fucking suck too) Since the show is supposed to be (kind of) realistic, we should be hearing interior dialogue about Rita, Trinity, Christine, Lundy etc... just what the fuck happened in general. But no, it's all 'boyd' and 'lumen'. OK, rant over.
Couple things you're forgetting though. When Arther entered the police building, they weren't looking for him as the Trinity killer yet. He was just another visitor to the station. The mustang had a new paint job, it wouldn't have matched the description the police would have been looking for.
I thought that episode was quite good
Never said he did. It's just idiotic pointing out every little flaw in a show. Every show has flaws and minor plot holes if you look hard enough. The thing is it's meant to be entertainment, not a quiz.
You're right, I had the same argument regarding Walking Dead. [editline]2nd November 2010[/editline]
You say that like the season is over.
It is for me. It's Tuesday and I still haven't watched the last episode. If something actually happens at the end, I'll catch up then.

They showed Batista looking at him. Surely he would recognize him when looking at the photograph if he had seen him just hours (or a day) before. And although the mustang had a new paint job, it was professionally done, meaning arthur paid for it, leading the police to the new paint job.
second part was decent though (on from ep6 to ep12)
I liked that part. Just finished Season 3 earlier today. Was bored as hell up until I got to the third disc, then it started to get pretty good.
A bit better episode. But I think Dexter forgot about Miguel. I could understand that the loss of his wife made him a bit confused or it's just the writing this season, but I don't like too much how willingly he's helping or is going to help Lumen.
What else is he going to do? He can't kill her, she doesn't fit his code. If he sits and does nothing and lets her go about her business he'd be completely fucked.
What else is he going to do? He can't kill her, she doesn't fit his code. If he sits and does nothing and lets her go about her business he'd be completely fucked.
The guy in the bathroom did?
What else is he going to do? He can't kill her, she doesn't fit his code. That's what I hate about this Lumen story.
The guy in the bathroom did?
The guy in the bathroom was an act of emotion. He didn't do it because it fit into any of his rules or anything. P.S. Isn't Lumen his new love interest?
It'd be retarded if she was. Didn't he hook up with Rita originally to just appear more normal? He could totally get off with never dating again now that she's gone.
Good substitute for someone to look after Harrison and I'm pretty sure he didn't feel that way after a few seasons.
Just watched the newest episode, it was very very good.
Im reading the books, and I can already tell you its soooo much better than the show.
Just watched the newest episode, it was very very good.
And yet still not about the title character at all.
It'd be retarded if she was. Didn't he hook up with Rita originally to just appear more normal? He could totally get off with never dating again now that she's gone.
Yeah but he liked Rita 'cause she was, in her own way, just as broken as him.
Im reading the books, and I can already tell you its soooo much better than the show.
That better be sarcasm, the first book was good (although a pretty sloppy ending) but they got progressively worse after that. This is one of the few times when the adaptation is better than the source material.
It'd be retarded if she was. Didn't he hook up with Rita originally to just appear more normal? He could totally get off with never dating again now that she's gone.
Yeah but what about season 2
Yeah but what about season 2
Lila seemed more of a fuck buddy to Dexter than anything, and there's nothing wrong with that because he didn't really seem to have feelings towards her at all.
He clearly obtained feelings about Rita, which wasn't his intent. He probably misses the feeling.
And yet still not about the title character at all.
90% of the episode was dexter trying to stop that bitch from killing people and learning more about himself in the process, fuck you talking about. Also the subplots in this episode were awesome and there was a real feeling of tension at the end.
90% of the episode was dexter trying to stop that bitch from killing people and learning more about himself in the process, fuck you talking about. Also the subplots in this episode were awesome and there was a real feeling of tension at the end.
Exactly, he's spent the entire season so far helping this girl deal with her shit. We've seen him kill one dude (well, four but three weren't done in the traditional sense and were done out of some other necessity or motive). The whole premise is that Dexter has an uncontrollable urge to kill, he's always been very methodical and meticulous about it and I seem to recall him having someone on his table every, or every other, episode. What did he learn about himself that he hasn't already learned in four seasons? I've already heard him repeat some inner monologue from another season. The side plots are boring. I don't care about Batista or Lageurta. This whole thing with them has seemed forced since the last season, and it's become tiresome. They're basically doing season 2 over again with Quinn, who will never replace Doakes. It's been done already and I don't care. If they had done it properly after all that transpired in season 4, then I'd be interested. I mean, they have the FBI involved with witnesses, he was found in Arthur Mitchell's house before anyone else arrived, and Trinity broke his MO to kill Dexter's wife and no one but Quinn puts two and two together? Come on. I'm thinking the seasons are going to be ranked 1, 4, 2, 3, 5

The credits music kind of loses its creepy touch when you place it at the end of a soap opera.
