I'm really bothered how they just forget what happened in past seasons.
The whole shoe thing in the end of season 1 was only in the first episode of season 2, and just to get rid of it. Fine, a subplot with the ex-husband blaming dexter wouldn't make much sense anyways, he's in prison after all.
Batista just leaved his under-cover cop girlfriend? Sure, what ever.
But now, they just got rid of the kids and are paying almost no attention to Quinn's theory?
It's like there's no progression, which bugged me through out almost every season, but is just getting ridicules now...

No. He was helping himself. If she is found out there's a good chance she'll try to use what she knows about Dexter to get herself out of it. It's pretty evident if you'd have been paying attention - him sending her out of the country for example. He says in the episodes it's because he doesn't want her to become even more messed up by killing them, but that's a lot of shit and you can easily tell he just wants her gone.

You're right, I don't know, but that's how it's appeared for half the season. What am I to assume based on that? You don't think he's going to bust him and further his career? What else could he possibly do, blackmail him?

The way I see it he's going to keep quiet about it. If you remember back a few seasons you can see Dexter was cool with letting Dexter away with him stealing money. (Though, serial killing is on a much higher scale.) But who knows, he might connect Dexter to the Bay Harbour butcher and agree with what he does to an extent that he won't rat.
Just like you I'm in no position to comment on what's going to happen because I simply don't know; but it's not right to use that as a reason to hate the season so far if you don't know what is going to happen, no matter what it may seem is going to happen. The writers have until the end of the season to kill Lumen brutally if they want to keep one of their most important viewers around.
I can't stand Lumen, every episode that she's in she dilutes Dexter more and more. And worse, she dilutes it with piss poor acting.

I think she's going to get killed, right at a point where Dexter will begin to like her, and this is when Dexter snaps and goes into a hole of sorts.
It's only now, at episode 7, that series starts to get better.
That's not fucking good enough writers, just because your story isn't large enough to go for the whole season doesn't mean you should have 4 fucking boring episodes on us.

Uh.. I hate to seem like I'm like a shield for the show or something, but that's a idiotic comment. You can't expect them to get dexter recovered from the ending of the last season, bring a character as big as lumen is getting into the show, set up the season (Killing Boyd) all within a few episodes.
Why didn't Dexter fuck Debra yet?
