This is going to be interesting.
(explanation) My only explanation.
Interesting theory but I think Deb sounded way too confident when shouting for it to be Dexter she's shouting at.
I have a feeling they could've done so much more with Liddy, I mean he was only an effective antagonist for one episode, I think he could've been like a catalyst for Dex and Quinn binding together, maybe not in a murder team (which annoyingly works this time) but in a convenient "you know my secret *high five wingman!*" kinda way :v: I also think Liddy was too much of a piece of shit to be a good antagonist, I mean he was just barely human, 30% cop, 70% sleazy mother fucker.

I loved his style.

God I can't wait for the Season Finale, but at the same time I dont want it to end :saddowns:
That's what makes a good antagonist imo. I loved his style.
I guess it gives him a new edge, I do admit that another Doakes would've been retarded, and I think he probably will become an unknowing catalyst to Dex and Quinn, but I have a feeling he just stayed on the sidelines too much, I'd like to have seen him get all up in Quinn's face and moreso tampering with his life.

Is this the last season or has another been confirmed?
Is this the last season or has another been confirmed?
Another has been confirmed.

Well we can all conclude that Dexter won't get caught like you might of seen in the preview because they already anounced another season.

3 more minutes.
fuck i hate watching sloppy dexter [editline]13th December 2010[/editline] It was okay, I guess :/ To be honest, I think that was poor writing. [sp]The santa meutre case was a waste of time. Liddy was a waste of time. That wasn't in debs character to not at least look at who the vigilantes were. there is no way quinn could magically be cleared of it. there's no way quinn wouldn't tell people about dexter if he thought he was going down. i think it was all kind of bullshit letting lumen leave at the end like nothing happened. everythings fine.. its like wtf. i know its a tv show but DAMN they really took the easy road!! they should have made season 5 more about trinity and shit like that! [/sp]
Guh, I wanted [sp]Lumen to stay with Dexter and have them live happily ever after. He had a unhappy ending last season, and another one this season. It was just depressing.[/sp]

I didn't like the direction that season 5 took. [sp]We came into the season expecting it to be revolving about Dexter's meltdown and everything fucking tearing apart. But what happened was a love story, then Lumen leaving, and everything's perfectly fine. I wanted Debora to discover Dexter and Lumen, just to fuck up everything for the sake of interest. I'm fine with Lumen leaving, I didn't really care for her. But I was so sad when Dexter started choking up :([/sp]
I wanted there to be a twist with the nanny so bad. When that dolls head popped off that Harrison was playing with in therapy I wanted it to be that the nanny was the one decapitating people, and rita's death didn't give him a dark passenger but the nanny did. or something like that. Lumen was a SHIT story line. Chase was a shit story line. Fuckin everything about this season was shit compared to the others.
what
jesus what a terrible fucking season [editline]13th December 2010[/editline] all current writers need to fuck off and never come back they have butchered a once great show
I enjoyed it. I was going a little crazy over the "elephant in the room" moments, there were a few more than usual...
I actually thought the finale was pretty good, although I'm not sure if I like how the thing with Deb ended, was a bit too convenient.
I liked the season. Not quite as good as 1, 2, and 4, but still pretty good. That said, I found the finale to be disappointing. The previous episode was good, but everything didn't feel right to me. [sp]Dexter and Lumen get caught, almost, but are let go and nothing happens. Nobody left for Lumen to get revenge on, so she leaves. I was at least expecting Lumen to stay around for the next season, instead of popping in and leaving once she's done with her work.[/sp] Also, two other things that bugged me [sp] With Jordan dying. He seemed like such a horrible, vile person, and he went down like that. That quickly in the episode. I was expecting something better, all the other antagonists died much better ways. And also the whole thing with Liddy seemed like a waste. Quinn knows he was watching Dexter, knew right before he came to his van that Liddy had something huge and needed a cop there. Quinn also has the pictures of Dex and Lumen. Makes it out like Dexter might have had something to do with it. But now, it's all peachy between the two. I was hoping the next season would start with Quinn suspected for Liddy's murder, with him thinking Dexter to be behind it, a way for Dex to get back at him for having Liddy spy on him. I was thinking from there, Quinn would be trying to find a way to get rid of Dexter. Because of the Liddy thing, and the fact they never got along/liked each other, seemed possible to me.[/sp]
Was it a double episode?
I felt like they left so much stuff unanswered with Jordan Chase. Like how he came to be that way? Why Emily? Why did he snap so suddenly and kill her without even thinking about it without ever touching a previous girl? I loved season 5 but that was a disappointing finale. At least disappointing enough that I don't want to wait 9 months for more answers about what happens next, because I was expecting more now.
Shit writing throughout the entire season. I don't expect this from a show like Dexter. Corny lines. Out-of-character lines and actions. Predictable lines. Unnecessary subplots. No major WOW moments like the other seasons.
I think the season was fine.
