reset button go now for season 6 to be what season 5 should have been
I wanted there to be a twist with the nanny so bad. When that dolls head popped off that Harrison was playing with in therapy I wanted it to be that the nanny was the one decapitating people, and rita's death didn't give him a dark passenger but the nanny did. or something like that.
That would be extremely stupid.
The first half of the season was so-so, the last few episodes were great, and the finale was disappointing. [sp]Jordan was killed off too quickly, the Liddy plot went nowhere (unless they decide to go back to it sometime next season, but I doubt that happens), and they had Lumen just leave.[/sp] They should have kept the tension going until the very end, and I think Deb should have caught them in the act - that could have been the last moment of the finale to give us a nice cliffhanger.
The season was alright. Not as good as the other seasons with the exception of 3. Some things are off about that final though. I think much better would have came out of it with one more story season explaining some of the stuff that Benji mentioned.
Also, Dexter crashed his car, and there's no way he could have moved it within an hour. Surely the cops would have found it. It had to be near the camp or else Jordan wouldn't have been standing there.
in retrospect it was worse than season 3.
i feel like most people just don't want to admit it because they like the show as a whole so much
i didn't want to admit it at first myself
but let's face the facts
this was a terrible, nothing season. it might as well have not even happened. here's one you'll be telling friends to 'skip over'.
I was going to catch up and watch it all at Christmas, but I'm doubting whether I should.
skip this season
I can't wait for the next season.
I was hoping for such more. This is for me the worst season yet. Not because it didn't meet my expectations but for the horrible writing. After the first trailer for the season and first two or three episodes I thought we would see how Dexter loose control and throughout the season he would find peace again. Then Lumen appeared and we got a wave of awkward scenes, love story that seemed almost forced and antagonists that were deep as Dexter's free time victims.
my heart started beating like a maniac when Debra "busted" them.
I was then heavily dissapointed that she didn't look who it was/didn't make them come forward.
that would've fixed the whole season for me.
I love Dexter, but I have to admit this season was absolute shit. Also, what do you thinks seems like a more reasonable ending. Dexter just stops killing or he gets caught. I think him getting caught is more reasonable in real life, but they probably don't want the back draft such as,"OMG WHY DID YOU DO THAT TO DEXTER BAAAAAAWWWWWWW".
Shit writing throughout the entire season. I don't expect this from a show like Dexter.
Corny lines. Out-of-character lines and actions. Predictable lines. Unnecessary subplots. No major WOW moments like the other seasons.
No massive WOW Twist like the finale of [sp]4th season[/sp]

Now we play the waiting game :smith:

Or we judge it for what it is instead of comparing then bawing.
Or we judge it for what it is instead of comparing then bawing.
And what it happened to be, was simply a badly written, disappointment of a series that wasted way too much potential and ultimately fell flat on it's face.
I hope to fucking god the writers of this season are fired. They've clearly lost the plot. Oh, and what about the fucking guy Dexter killed in episode 2 in the riverside shop? His evidence was all over the place but I guess the writers just dumped that and never mentioned it again
Or we judge it for what it is instead of comparing then bawing.
i judged it for what it is
ITS AAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWFFFFFUUUUUULLLL jesus christ SUCH A BAD FUCKING SEASON
[editline]14th December 2010[/editline]
it is a disgrace to writing and writers everywhere.
I really hope the writers realize "oh, that was terrible why did we write that, okay let's do something actually good for Season 6" or something
In terms of how good Dexter usually is, this was a bad season. But as a whole it wasn't awful, it was just average which like I said is below average for Dexter.
also, this season lacked Masuka laughs
also, this season lacked Masuka laughs
it lacked pretty much anything of any substance and quality

Then lower your standards.
Then lower your standards.
Why should he lower his standards for something that has pretty much been consistently great?
[editline]13th December 2010[/editline]
Until this season, of course.
Then lower your standards.
yes let's just accept shitty seasons that's perfectly fine it's not like dexter should be good television how dare it
Then lower your standards.
in what world is this an acceptable compromise? "something is horrifically awful, but it's not it's fault, it's yours for having good standards"
this seasons writing was catastrophically bad, i would honestly be embarrassed to lower my standards enough to like it

I somehow can't stop myself reading this in a british "gentlemanne" voice.

A world where most people are happy with a show if it's at least average, which was the case with this season. But you have to keep your standards high so you can be so edgy, right?

Oh my god shut UP
There is nothing wrong with having high standards for a show that provides a reason to have high standards, and being upset when it doesn't deliver. If there is a sports team that's expected to do really good, then does completely shitty and loses, people are upset. Same rule applies here.

You can't do that. You can't not compare it, why wouldn't you compare it? If that were the case than after this season I would never watch Dexter again, because I'm just going to forget about the good seasons because I can't compare them.
Oh my god that is seriously the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
What I'm saying is rusty takes things way to fucking seriously like saying skip this season and shit and most of his posts in this thread is basically the same thing. Its fucking annoying and he needs to learn to ignore some things instead of crying about them. If you looked at his posts in this thread it would probably mention every minor little mistake this season has.
I can watch a season and accept it as average and still be happy enough with it because it's probably still better than many other shows.
I wanted Deb to find out, dammit!
