I saw [i]another[/i] cop drama action show, the name of which eludes me right now, being advertised during the Superbowl. Between CSI, NCIS, Law and Order, all of their spin-offs and any of the other what must be dozens of shows with the same formula, it's a wonder how any of them get ratings and make any money, especially considering how fucking shitty they all are.
Law and Order is genuinely good though. Not sure about the new episodes, but the earlier seasons are fantastic.

Stop thinking of your opinion as a fact.
Sure, season 5 isn't as great as the first seasons, but in my opinion it's still watchable and a hell of a lot better than most other tv-shows. Stop enforcing your opinion on others, just because you think it's "awful, the worst crap I've seen, give me back the x hours of my life I spent watching this shit e.t.c." doesn't mean everyone else does.
And skipping a whole season is silly and will only make you confused when it comes to serials like Dexter, where episode and season plots are closely connected to each other.
yeah except it won't confuse anyone because like i've said everything that started in this season was wrapped up neatly. even quin in his entirely could be summed up with a suspicious squint, and then an "ahhh fuck it", now you know everything you need for season 6!

It is perfectly apt. Season 5 was shit, scat is shit, they're one and the same. I was as revolted by season 5 as I was 2G1C.

This has to be the first time of me posting outside of the Games subsection, but I just have to say I loved Season 5. It's easily my most favourite, and I really don't see the points being made here to actually be valid in a discussion of that season's quality. Bad writing? We must have seen different shows, then. I don't wanna dive into an argument here, but seriously, just because you didn't like it, don't try to make it as horribly bad as it seems from reading these pages.
