That was season 4 and yes she should have. What shouldn't have happened was what they did with that event in season 5, which was basically pretend she didn't exist in the first place.

I can't help it but the trailer feels a bit generic, nothing to set the season theme... Well, possibly some religion oriented killing but what's Dexter's part in it.

You do realize what the purpose of a trailer is? Given, that was probably more of a teaser, but still, it established a religious theme and it revealed that Dexter is once again trying to find out what's his role in the higher scheme of things, if any.

dexter finds killer, killer does shit to dexter, somebody gets killed/kidnapped/threatened, dexter goes off to find them, killer escapes, dexter surprise kills them when they think they've won
in other news i rewatched season 1, and my god it's still the best season. no other season comes close to that, honestly

I have to watch it online because I don't have Showtime, but I honestly could not stop watching episode after episode.
So far for me, season 1 has been the best, with the last season a close second.
For me, the first was best with the third and fourth tied for second best.
The official true order from best season to worst is 1, 4, 2, 3, 5. Everything else is just your opinion.

Watched the first couple of episodes of Season 1 and I gotta say the first two seasons were the best.
Hm, the one year skip could fix few problems, but I still think they threw away a great chance on showing the impacts of season 4, instead doing that Lumen business. Let's just hope this season make us all happy.

Just just got around to finish this show, and I love it! For some reason the funniest moment in the series for me is when Dexter push his stepdaughter into the pool.
