Could be. I don't know, but I'm hoping that the producers wouldn't waste our time with it, only to find out that the situation's exactly what it appears to be at the end of the season.
Although they did just that with LaGuerta and Angel's relationship, and also Deb's weird girl-buddy cop, so who knows.

I don't know if you were in on all that speculation about the nanny last season, but that turned out to be a load of nothing. Then again, it was never hinted at by the writers so I don't know where people come up with half the shit that they do.

It wasn't completely horrible. It started off bad, but it sort of redeemed itself towards the end.
I hated Lumen though. And while it wasn't horrible, it wasn't anywhere near the standard of the other 4 series. Still enjoyable though.

Oh, yeah. I wasn't on Facepunch whilst last season was showing, but you're right; that's another thing we had our time wasted with.
Season 5 would have been so much better if Lumen died from her injuries in the beginning.

The show should just end with Debra shooting Dexter, but not actually seeing his face, and through whatever situation his body is unrecoverable, happy ending and that's it.
The religious stuff starts to annoy me a bit. Hard to say if I'll like this at least more than season 5 (if it actually turns even worse I'll reconsider watching Dexter again, but I hope that can't happen now that Lumen is gone).
Also the new assistant is hot. I'm mean that ass.
The religious side could be really good if it's done like a David Fincher movie.
Also i don't give a shit about Deb and Quinn.
They should just let Dexter get caught at the end of this season and give us a rad last prison season.

I guess I'll be the only the say that I liked the episode and I think that the new season will be good :X
First episode wasn't bad, but it wasn't what i expect of dexter, season 5 was expected to be shit simply because they had such a good 4th season and unfortunately dexter seems to always follow it's best seasons with a bad one, which made me have hopes for this season, whether that pans out or not we'll just have to see.
more or less the good times need to end soon unfortunately, but i'd rather the show end with a great series finale rather then not get renewed for a new season and we're left with no closure.
I still don't fully feel like I have closure from the 4th season.
