All I want is for LaGuerta and Quinn to die in a horrible painful death together That would make up for everything ever
I've never wanted anything more in my life.
Great episode. Fucking bizarre ending. Also, seriously[sp] what's with Masuka's assistant? Don't even fucking tell me she's going to be another long lost relative of Dexter and the ITK or something[/sp] And the books were fucking garbage, never. read. them. Except for maybe the first one since the first season of show almost followed the book word for word... which would probably make reading it feel like deja vu.
In the books, Dexter essentially has no emotions. He saves people because it's logical, and kills for the logical reason. With the exception of Book 3, he does things purely because they are deemed necessary to him. I find that a lot easier to connect with, especially with the plot-point of book 3. [sp] He loses the Dark Passenger, and becomes essentially a woman suffering from a few month long periods [/sp] Also, the books are amazingly spiritual, which makes this season a little easier to swallow. Too bad there's nothing about the Dark Passenger.
He claims to be an emotionless monster in the first episode. Which made me surprised when he [sp]whacked Paul over the head, freaked out when Debra was captured, and cried when he killed his brother. I understand his brother more, since it brings him back to his memories before he went through that trauma. I understand the Debra thing more than Rita, since he lived with her his whole life. But still, for self proclaiming himself to not feel anything whatsoever, why does he have these seemingly out of character actions?[/sp] (don't reply to this with spoilers past season 1, or at least warn me if you do)

But still, for self proclaiming himself to not feel anything whatsoever, why does he have these seemingly out of character actions?[/sp]
He's basically just an incredibly unreliable narrator. I think he genuinely feels like he has no emotions, but that's just a result of him being emotionally disconnected from almost everyone he meets due to his need to murder. [very mild spoilers] [sp]Over the course of the series (particularly season 4 and 5), he does a lot more things that are very emotionally-driven, to the point where you realize he's basically full of shit.[/sp] I think his claiming he feels nothing is a protection mechanism more than anything - along with all the other more pedestrian feelings along the lines of, "What if the people I love die/leave/etc.?", it's heightened for him because he's constantly preparing to get caught. If he convinces himself he doesn't feel anything, then it won't matter. [Moderate spoilers, but nothing too specific] [sp]He does meet some other murderers along the way, in addition to his brother, and basically comes to the conclusion that they more or less disgust him due to their lack of regard for human life. Even though he's a murderer - or, perhaps, because he's a murderer - he has a fine appreciation for the sanctity of life. So he's disconnected from normal people, because he's driven to kill, but he's also very disconnected from other murderers he meets, because none of them kill in what he deems to be an ethical way. They just do it for selfish reasons.[/sp]
what the fuck is wrong with you people. there's nothing wrong with this season yet. [sp]other than the possibility of dexter becoming christian[/sp]
[sp]Catholic[/sp] Surprisingly, there is a big difference.
[sp]Catholic[/sp] Surprisingly, there is a big difference.
Catholicism is a kind of Christianity, like Protestantism.
Catholicism is a kind of Christianity, like Protestantism.
Being a catholic and being a christian are too very different things. I agree with Satane, it doesn't matter anyways. The series is rapidly going towards Dexter gaining faith.
Being a catholic and being a christian are too very different things. I agree with Satane, it doesn't matter anyways. They believe in The Bible, and that Jesus was the son of God and he got killed to save our souls and all that. They just added some stuff.

This, and that blonde chick from Masouka interested with Ice Truck Killer case - I don't think that this can be a coincedence. Something big is coming with that case[/sp]
oh god say it aint so
wait I don't remember deb ever finding out it was dexters brother or did i just forget that happened
wait I don't remember deb ever finding out it was dexters brother or did i just forget that happened
you forgot she was all 'omg what the fuck you fucking nutjob y u not tell me'
you forgot she was all 'omg what the fuck you fucking nutjob y u not tell me'
really? fuck i gotta rewatch the first season then. And I'll enjoy it a heck of a lot more than this season.
dont think it was first season
I wonder if Deborah will finally find out about Dexter this season. [sp]She's known in the books from the end of #1, and had a mental breakdown about it at #4[/sp]
wait what episode does deb [sp]find out that rudy was dexter's brother[/sp] i don't remember that happening at all
season four towards the end "His former love Debra Morgan begins an investigation into the past of the Ice Truck Killer. She learns of Laura Moser and through extensive research, finally discovers the truth about Dexter's relation to Brian as his actual biological brother. She confronts him about this, informing him of this information while also realizing that Brian was using her just to get to Dexter. "
ah right now i remember. i wonder if she is the least bit suspicious about dexter since then. There has to be some kind of lingering feeling.
Other than the fact that the show is less about about Dexter I also hate the other fact that they always justify Dexter's murders. I mean, he is after all a cold blooded serial killer but the show portray him as this glorifying hero who only does good and is so awesome and incredible woooo Season 1 was more special. He actually seemed like a psycho. Now he's just... normal. [editline]20th October 2011[/editline] Okay I just saw the latest episode and holy fuck the ending, that's creepy.
Well that episode made up for season 5 [editline]20th October 2011[/editline]
I wonder if Deborah will finally find out about Dexter this season. [sp]She's known in the books from the end of #1, and had a mental breakdown about it at #4[/sp]
what [sp]i thought she died at the end of book 1[/sp]
no, [sp]laguerta died[/sp]
no, [sp]laguerta died[/sp]
what the fuck, gotta read that again then
no, [sp]laguerta died[/sp]
i wish that would carry into this season
i wish that would carry into this season
I think the crew have too much of a non professional relationships for anything dramatic to happen until the last season.
i wish that would carry into this season
[sp] It's kind of looking like it will be set-up that way. LaGuerta is going to look like a prime ass when this Apocalypse Killer starts showing off more, I.E. next episode. It just seems like someone is going to kill her.[/sp]
no, [sp]laguerta died[/sp]
Too bad that part didn't make it into the series, think of all the boring shit we could have been spared...
there's no way something isn't going to happen with that Ryan girl (? is that even her fucking name. What were they thinking). I genuinely hate it when characters close to Dexter are on the verge of finding out the truth about him. I wish they were all oblivious :v: I hope they dont kill off Masuka. Even though he's a massive seed his "herherherh" laugh and sexual innuendos still get a laugh out of me. [editline]23rd October 2011[/editline] Also I think everyone needs to let go of season 5 and pretend it never happened. I'm over people complaining about how shit it's become. This season is shaping up to be really good and of course nothing will be as good as season 1, it's five fucking seasons later, they're still being original. we really can't complain anymore, they had a dud season for sure but I think its back on track.
Masuka is one of the only good side characters, I doubt they'll ever kill him off
