I'm glad they bring back [sp]Brian[/sp] but I feel he shows up out of nowhere and the event that caused it feels a bit insignificant. I believe there were more intense moments in the past where he could have shown up but didn't. What I'm trying to say is that the writers are running out of good ideas so they are using old assets. [sp]Brian[/sp] being one and [sp]Trinity's son[/sp] being the other.
[sp]When Nick was laughing about Brother Sam's death that no one could do anything infront of Dexter I just wanted Dexter to kill that prick, so happy when Dexter actually killed him. Fucking prick deserved to die, more happy of him dieing then I was when Lumen died last season. [/sp]
Lumen died, what?
Lumen died, what?
Good thing, dead people usually don't come back. Maybe as ghost Lumen but we don't want to expect the worst.
regarding lumen [sp]she didnt die she just left[/sp]
regarding lumen [sp]she didnt die she just left[/sp]
Yeah exactly never recalled her dying. But I like it how Brian made his sudden appearance as Dexter's imaginary friend when he killed Nick. Some balance between Harry's code and Brian's and Dex's psychopathy.
Well in all honesty,[sp]there have been times where Dex has lost his cool and done irrational things. Perhaps this is one of those situations where he simply has no other option, or perhaps it's another of those situations where he simply gets too angry to act rational (like with the guy in the beginning of season 5 who insulted his dead wide, and drowning Nick for not feeling guilt over killing brother Sam).[/sp] [editline]10th November 2011[/editline] My personal guess is that it's just a last resort though.
that is very true, Dexter only fucks up in pressure situations, Which in a sense makes him human, blah blah blah. But, [sp] next episode looks like hes going balls to the wall insane and is shooting a hand cannon while driving to wherever. Dexter only losses his cool for a second, like when he was following trinity and lost it on the guy taking his picture to frame him for bribing the police officers. I dont recall him ever being insane for more than a few moments or scenes, rather than for an entire episode or maybe more. Im not to crazy about the drastic change, but we will just have to wait until the end of the season to look back and see how everything fit together and whether or not it worked out. [/sp]
Can we stop using spoiler tags for aired episodes? It's fucking confusing, some that are being posted are as old as season 3, some are from the last aired episode, and some are for the next.
yeah I get that debra swears a lot but it really still needs to be well written. swearing a lot has to be an artform, it needs to flow. but her 'sweary' dialogue never flows and it usually feels forced. Instead of 'You're such a fucking asshole' they would write 'Fuck, you're such a fucking fucker', it's not funny, it's not smart, excessive swearing needs finesse, something these writers completely lack.
after re-watching Sunday's episode, when Debb [sp] yells at quin for having sex with a person of interest, sh says "Dont fuck with my fucking investigation, you fuck." And it sounded terribly forced. Didnt realize it till now. [/sp]
regarding lumen [sp]she didnt die she just left[/sp]
Well she should have
yeah i agree but she didnt so
Does anyone else find Jennifer Carpenter super attractive? Everyone I watch this show with finds her eyes strange but I like them, they're distinctive and cute. Also I'm really wondering what Brian's role is now that he's "back." Is he going to be another one of Dexter's visions a la Harry showing up at certain points?
i find her less and less attractive each episode i started out thinking she was cute in season 1 and now i think shes uggers [editline]14th November 2011[/editline] and also look what happened to rita - she started out okay and then got super gross. it's the whole 'i'm in a show for more than a season i'm super famous *gets heaps of plastic surgery and gallons of makeup*' it is yuck. why dont they understand this
i loved this episode, it was pretty much completely about dexter. there was minimal subplot and there it didnt really dwell too long in any scenes. it also helped make this season more about dexter's emotions and conscious than just about religion like it was before, which is more of a spark to get dexter to question himself. [editline]14th November 2011[/editline] my only real complaint is that it all kinda came out of nowhere and happened in a flash
what a great episode, i've watched the whole series and that was probably my favorite one
i loved this episode, it was pretty much completely about dexter. there was minimal subplot and there it didnt really dwell too long in any scenes. it also helped make this season more about dexter's emotions and conscious than just about religion like it was before, which is more of a spark to get dexter to question himself. [editline]14th November 2011[/editline] my only real complaint is that it all kinda came out of nowhere and happened in a flash
this so much. Anyway [sp] First i would like to make the call that Masuko's intern is gonna die, or become a part of the 'crew'. Im leaning toward death because i dont see them adding another long term character. Also, once again, there is complete and utter uncertainty as to whether Gellar is real or fake. They first show brian as actually doing things like throwing body parts in the water or killing the weed grower, which in tern shows to be Dexter. This may be the writers trying to show that Gellar is a part of Travis as he might be carrying out his orders when he doesnt know it (split personality like fight club). But then Gellar is actually making a lot of progress at times that Travis really is occupied with his sister or something, but thats not really concrete. So still utter confusion on that topic. [/sp] Overall nothing happened... again. ffs
that episode was horrible, what the fuck are the writers doing
i'm only 16 mins into it but so far its the worst ep of dexter ive ever seen. seriously god awful. everyone suddenly is acting out of character for no reason and rudi being there its all just eeueuUUGH anyone who says this episode is good should be lynched
Rusty it's like you watch this show purely to complain now. I don't understand why you still watch the show if you think it's so bad, especially saying you post here as if watching the show is a chore and not a form of entertainment.
Actually, this episode was pretty good, but what the fuck the ending. For last 15 minutes they hired writers from Season 5. [sp]What was the point to bringing back one of the bestest character as a ghost, which was nice twist, but just for one episode, what the hell. I hope he will return, again. Harry is so boring[/sp]
I, too, didn't like it that much. It all felt not very thought out and [sp]Rudi should have been used better than just the devil on Dexter's shoulder[/sp].

[sp]Dexter is a serial killer[/sp]

Ontopic: This episode was definitely not what I expected, Dexter is threading into the danger zone of getting caught.
because it used to be good and i'm accustomed to watching it by now, plus there's always a chance it can pick up (but only if they fire these writers. seriously) that last episode was god awful. gut wrenchingly bad. anyone who enjoyed it should feel ashamed. it was like a writing catastrophe.
They're not just gonna fire the writers and scrap the upcoming episodes, which i'm sure you know. Your constant whining every week saying the exact same thing like you expect something else from the writers is stupid as fuck. We get the point.
I, too, didn't like it that much. It all felt not very thought out and [sp]Rudi should have been used better than just the devil on Dexter's shoulder[/sp].
yeah brian is incredibly one dimensional in this one. really nothing special, in the end (once again) nothing happens.
This thread is exactly as I remember it. Lots of rusty whining

I did. I haven't seen anything past episode 1 of this season. It's not going to get any better, you know it, I know it.
Did anyone else notice this? http://localhostr.com/files/suuQuYG/capture.png http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/71/Grant_DeVolson_Wood_-_American_Gothic.jpg/250px-Grant_DeVolson_Wood_-_American_Gothic.jpg
I did. But I was more thinking about what just happened in the scene.
