I'm enjoying this season, I enjoyed the reveal. I like the show. yeah this season isn't as good as some of the others, but considering it's only an hour a week, and you have complete free will to watch it or not. I find it provides entertainment, regaurdless if I figured the twist before. Michael C hall is a great actor, and I enjoy the supporting cast and side plots. the show has evolved, or course it's not going to stay the same, but compared to the usual trash on tv nowadays it's still entertaining and it still holds my attention for the duration of the episode.
There are so many things wrong with this. Whether or not we have the choice to watch it doesn't change anything. I also have the free will to choose to punch myself repeatedly in the balls, but that doesn't mean it's not a terrible choice. It's not just that the season isn't as good as the others, it's that it's incredibly worse than it used to be, and its hard for us as fans of the show to accept the way it's become. Michael C. Hall is still a great actor, I agree, but the character of Dexter has been slaughtered like many of his victims. I mean, we don't get to see him using his intelligence and cleverness to solve/get out of problems anymore. He gets by on dumb luck and convenient writing far too often. Is it still entertaining? Sure, but this is a show that set high standards for its writing, and for me it's just not possible to turn a blind eye to its decline and enjoy it. The shit we see now reminds of a newer South Park episode. "Gellar is the psycho mastermind behind it all!" "Now he's in the freezer?" "Or maybe he's a ghost! Whatever, fuck you!"
If they killed off LaGuerta I'd forgive them for this season.
Maybe I'm not that observant, but I watched Fight Club for the first time years after it came out, and I honestly did not expect the end twist at all. It was the first time (at least in awhile) a twist in that vein [sp](something/someone being completely in the main character's head)[/sp] actually made me say "oh, snap."
When I watched Fight Club for the first time and the twist was revealed I thought "Holy crap, that's clever and unexpected". When Dexter found Gellar in the freezer I though "Oh come on!". What made Fight Club's twist so much better is that it was always hinted at but I didn't see it coming. In Dexter they hinted heavily that he was alive (Dexter saying that he is alive for instance even though he apparently never saw him even though it looked like he saw him) but everyone still suspected that Gellar was a ghost. Also we saw Gellar while it was implied that we saw everything from Dexter's perspective which would mean that Dexter and Travis are sharing one imagination which is an all new level of bullshit.
Now there's an idea....
I could see this happening, especially now she's even more useless than she was in the previous seasons
Story board for next season: enter harrison and his preschool passenger. omg dex squash teh darkness out of your son before its too late. its too late, hes biting the heads off of dolls. dexter meets with his teacher about this ongoing decapitation doll problem.. but omg.. the teacher is beautiful. and dexter is in love. a serial killer emerges. dexters on the edge of being caught again. dont worry, shit falls into place. cause dexter is that fucking lucky. again. THE FINAL SHOWDOWN. serial killer dies dexter wins. birthday/wedding/funeral scene. end season. edit: i forgot to add.. deb has a break down somewhere in there
dont forget to ramp up debs fuck count. maybe throw in a few cunts for good measure, just in case it wasnt already excessively sweary already!!
I think the books are actually better than the show at this point. Evil cults included.
yeah, you know dexter has gone down hill when the opening title sequence doesn't even apply anymore seriously you watch the opening and he's acting like season 1/2 dexter, then you watch the episode and he's a normal human being that happens to kill people and for some reason trusts every fucker who happens to be like him even though the last three seasons that's failed horribly. bet you 10 bux masuka's intern is probably a serial killer JUST LIKE DEXTER and next season dexter will work with him and train him and he'll betray dexter fuck it, i'm out
I remember when Dexter actually had the hunger to kill people. Like when Doakes was tailing him and he couldn't kill. He was bugging out and shit. That never happens any more. I miss Doakes.

[sp]Not sure what I think about the twist in the last episode[/sp]
I don't think I can bring myself to recommend this show anymore knowing that it will never have a satisfying conclusion and the best option is just to stop at a massive cliffhanger
Dexter's dark passenger is pregnant, who's the dad, ghost Geller or ghost dad?
me @ tha end of last episode: omg i dindt expect this :O
Eh I may begin to watch dexter season 1 just to see how different it is [editline]1st December 2011[/editline] Ok, just re-watched the pilot. There's definitely something missing from the this season [editline]1st December 2011[/editline] Ok, just re-watched the pilot. There's definitely something missing from the this season
So far yes, but I recommend you watch the preview so you get ready for a big character change.
Yeah, I know. But think about it. Travis wanted to be good, and do God's work. Gellar wanted to do whatever it took to please what "God was telling him". Travis walked into his arms, which would be akin to metamorphosis, making himself into Gellar essentially. While I agree this is all bullshit, I think for what it is it's a pretty good season so far. Leaps and bounds better than season 5, but that's not saying much.
Ok I get why some of you guys are so angry now. But eh, at least the show isn't fully fucked in my eyes, I didn't like season 2 that much and season 3 was good, then there was season 4 which was awesome. I didn't like season 5 that much (it sucked) and season 6 is pretty decent, so personally I'm glad. Dexter is still one of my favorite series, but if everything was like season 1 it would've been the best.

Now i feel like its almost in the same playing field as other crappier shows with this terrible writing. It lost its, i dont know how to put it, charm? swag? Whatever it was, its gone now. It may be just slightly better than some shows today, but nowhere near what it was, which for long time viewers is disappointing.

every scene with him is cringe worthy, it's like that CSI stuff except that show is at a level where its hilarious
[editline]1st December 2011[/editline] did he just type a cel number and it showed exactly where it was?
no he pressed w, clicked three times then pressed w again
no he pressed w, clicked three times then pressed w again
its even sadder knowing there is someone out there watching and is amazed by the show's 'technological know-how'

what if dexter is a ghost too
what if dexter is a ghost too
it turns out dexter was bruce willis the whole time
I'm quite enjoying the twist with the new season. Never expected [sp]Gellar to be Travis' own "dark passenger", as Dexter sees Harry.[/sp] Episode 10 comes on at 9. Ahhh, gotta catch it.
Somehow I knew it,dexter never saw Gellar when he was with travis. But cant wait for the next episode :D
Somehow I knew it,dexter never saw Gellar when he was with travis. But cant wait for the next episode :D
When was Gellar ever with Travis and Dexter at the same time? When Dexter walked in on [sp]Travis chained to the floor, Gellar moved away before Dexter could see him[/sp] so I don't see how you could've seen it. :P In episode 10 it's finally revealed.
It was obvious for a really long time. Even in the new episode when Dexter said something about Gellar just as Travis opened the elevator doors.
