After rewatching season 1 and 2, I really understand just how awful season 5 and 6 are.
I wish they would never have started with the whole GHOST DAD thing.
It worked just fine and was a lot less ridiculous when we just heard his inner monologue during conversations or when narrating his actions, Dexter standing around explaining everything he does to a ghost that likes to give him friendly advice on things just feels out of place and ruins the mood.
I wonder if Debra will get a ghost Dexter, she wasn't far off in the latest episode.

I would be okay if Dexter could blame her death on Travis' account. LaGuerta's death is probably the only way to save this show.

I don't really mind the father relation really, what I mind is how there is way too many emotional sub-plots.
It would have been perfectly alright if it was all about Dexter trying to cope with being a father whilst pursuing the Doomsday killer.
However Dexter trying to be a father, while pursuing the Doomsday killer, while Quinn has become an alcoholic annoyance due to being dumped by Debra, while Debra is becoming an emotional wreck due to being promoted to lieutenant and Quinn being an asshole, while her Psychiatrist tells her she wants incest with her brother, while Laghuerta is being an outright cunt and fucking over her boss as well as Debra, while the new guy steals evidence to fake crime scenes or some shit, while also dating sergeant Batista's sister... is just too fucking much.

I myself am a professional bitch, and I can say easily that when women are working in a male-dominant environment, they act just like you see in this show. You'd be surprised how much back stabbing and such women will go to. Of course here are some exceptions, but it's pretty common.
