Let's make a game where you can get a pickaxe and mine for resources and everything would be blocks and you could punch pigs for food, it would be totally original and never seen before.

How about we make a game that would be awesome to play when you're high. Also i can do C# + OpenGL (or SFML), but i suggest we choose a framework after the game idea because else we'll never complete it.

it was really cool watching the shroomy effects in that vid, like blocks of the world falling and the colour changing, would be cool in a game like that

how about a game like starbound but the main objective is to just produce drugs
You produce drugs, sell them, while also having to occasionally fight off people trying to rob you/whatever else. [editline]5th October 2014[/editline] And you could take them and some could be like power ups/just have crazy effects.
you can get addicted to the drugs you take which means you have to take them regularly or you get ill but in return the effects granted by that drug never expire (the disadvantage of course being the dependence on the drug) this could be a cool game make it multiplayer
So what do people want, platformer or top down?
depends on what idea we go with. a game in which you produce drugs sounds fun but i imagine it wouldn't be very replayable, once you've made all the drugs what do you do other than sell and take them? progressive games need a lot of attention and it's very 50/50 on whether or not a baked person has that
Well we could design it so it takes a very long time to upgrade to some of the better things, for example, once you've sold enough you can buy a bigger house for more production, better weapons, better supplies. Hell we could take it as far as once you start making too much you have to find some way to launder the money. We could go full breaking bad with this
But still make sure it's all presented to the player in a somewhat simplistic manner to prevent people getting all confused about what they are trying to do.
there's a game like cookie clicker called clicking bad, it's about breaking bad and it lets you upgrade your cooking equipment so you just end up getting more and more money, the appeal of the game is to buy as much of everything as possible while watching your "$Xquadrillion a second" counter go up and up. i suppose the fun in this drug game would be watching your enterprise gradually grow bigger from a shitty little grow op to a huge cocaine trafficking network or something

top down sim in which you play a bottom-of-the-chain drug dealer who has to work his way up "independently" (you can make deals with various gangs dealers and suppliers throughout the area to boost your business but at it's core the game is about [I]your[/I] success). random events based on your actions eg getting busted because you're slack as fuck, getting robbed due to bad business, bonuses such as unexpectedly large yields from cannabis crops and stuff, there's a lot of fun to be had. [editline]5th October 2014[/editline] it's also a shooter, not just point and click shit, if you're meeting someone and a deal goes bad and you've gone through the effort of getting yourself equipped with a weapon then you can actually engage in combat with them, no random number shit, blast the mofuckas [editline]5th October 2014[/editline] missions(?) start off slow as they'd just be simple "meet [customer] at [spot] to deliver [drugs] by [time]" and "meet [supplier] at [spot] to collect [drugs] by [time]", of course failing the first would result in a lost customer while failing the second could result in trouble with the business [editline]5th October 2014[/editline] eventually you have to take care of paying people to manage your various production schemes as well as protection (bodyguards, weapons), transport, and property. each bought property can be converted into any form of lab so long as the player purchases the necessary equipment, from standard shit like weed farms and meth labs to higher stuff like crack labs (new jack city style) and even creative stuff like lsd synthesis

You can really expand a lot with this if you make that some open world type shit. Work your way up from nothing all the way to the top while avoiding cops, rival dealers, and shit like that.
the first game you obviously play as a little gangsta ghetto boy but if it's a success then we can have sequels that follow mafia and triad stories. it's like the same game as gta but instead of playing as a "hired guy" you play as a dealer with their own goals and plans [editline]5th October 2014[/editline] but yea the character is gonna have to be like someone straight out of san andreas
I think the most exciting thing about this game, if we make it, is that the user will be able to produce almost [I]any[/I] drug and it will be [I]accurate[/I]. Hell, we might teach or inspire some people.
we'll advertise it with "learn how to extract your own dmt" [editline]5th October 2014[/editline] i can't imagine it would be too hard to get the framework for this game together, once the whole "system" is in place it would be easy to expand it with different missions events and characters. i think it would be good if each playthrough was different depending on what choices you make but that would be a looooot of work (i think) so maybe procedural fixed events could work to keep the game from getting monotonous [editline]5th October 2014[/editline] and i could make some funky tunes for a game in which you play a street hustler hahaha
To grow weed you'd need: x1 soil x1 pot for the soil x1 marijuana seed (perhaps we could introduce different strains as the game moves forward) and you need to water the weed let's say... every 10 minutes or it may wilt/die/or produce product that doesn't live up to customer expectations. To produce meth, let's say (for the beginning) you'd have to go buy psuedophedrine as the precursor and do some synthesis with it. Any wrong steps taken in the synthesis can result in an end product that may not be meth, so I think drug reagent tests should also be available to the player. To produce DMT you could either grow Mimosa Hostillis (and other DMT containing plants) or you could buy yopo/cebil seeds from a vendor. The idea is to turn investment into profit and learn something about drugs in the process. Shrooms is a straighforward operation but the supplies would be hard to find in the game. Maybe you can buy research chemicals and sell them as LSD or other drugs but there's a chance your customers will catch on...
