Hmm, I'm the opposite, I hate when my braces don't line up, as it takes longer to check whether everything is closed.
One does not simply forget to close a brace!
A common error for me is actually forgetting a fucking semi-colon somewhere. It's easy to find, but it's a mild obnoxious slap each time.

Working on tile system (placeholder tiles), just implemented separate alpha mask blending with help of OpenTK.
It blends this tile

with this alpha mask

and renders it.
It's useful for nice transitions between grass and dirt for example.

It's gonna have dynamic 2D shadows too, something like this
I'm gonna implement that when i get more free time.
Sounds like you're putting in a lot of work, we thank you cartman. I'll try to get some more time to work on this soon, surely some time this weekend.

Wasn't THAT lot of work, i just have experience in such stuff already. I sleep for 2 days and then do something because i get bored.
I was wondering that as well.
Who drew up the basic player and car sprites?

I guess I could use that when I use VS, but for my school programming projects, I pretty much am limited to linux options, maybe there's something like that for qtcreator.

was a style even agreed upon
was a style even agreed upon
I'm almost positive 2D, top-down was agreed on.
I think he means art style.
[editline]20th October 2014[/editline]
Realistic, metallic, 2.5D (as to make the game look 3 dimensional with graphics), flat, shiny, dull, cartoon, futuristic, modern, grungy, etc.
2.5D (as to make the game look 3 dimensional with graphics)
Not the definition of 2.5D
[editline]20th October 2014[/editline]
Not that there is a definition.
[editline]20th October 2014[/editline]
Well actually it is the definition.
It's the best I could do to describe what it is.
we ought to have it cartoon style, since the gameplay is extremely in depth and at times repetitive, the cartoony graphics will keep users satisfied
Or high users... in all seriousness I cant wait to play this
it would be cool in a style similar to this

what's wrong with his hand??
It's happy to see you.

Added some tile rendering and lighting. Shadows and smooth tile transitions soon.
Any progress?
I never did get in on the development.
I think everybody got super busy for 3 weeks
I haven't been through the whole proccess, but is there some kind of plot or script already?
I haven't been through the whole proccess, but is there some kind of plot or script already?
We have basic gameplay kind of written down, not wholly agreed upon
Got it, 'cause I think I can help a little with the script.
I've been thinking in a story about a drugdealer with personality disorders - bipolar style - that is indecisive about tryng a new synthetic shit from his supplier, to know whether he's gonna sell it or not but he gets tricked when his supplier drops it in his drink. In my mind his trip becomes a huge part of the story - lenghtwise - and is set on his different personalities clashing at an existencialist fistfight on who's coming back as "him".
Idk, it could be implemented in-game kinda like Hotline Miami's personality fuzz, maybe.
[t]http://www.blankmaninc.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/hotline-miami-three-personalities.jpg[/t]
We could try and work on that shit a lil' more, also.

Yes, I am all in for a -mindfuck- type of game. Specially if it gets nice and deep, where it may even make the player question their personality. But still be heavily drug related, and down to business. So that the user feels obligated to commit to certain tasks which they may later think upon; "Did I really just feel like I had to do such and such to this other guy?"...
Scenarios like that, such as in Breaking Bad, when [sp]Walter has Gus killed[/sp], things like that. And at the end of the day, it's just business.
if you guys need any graphic design let me know, it would be awesome to contribute to a dd game.
ps. special abilities for X seconds after consuming drg Y?
there's nothing else i can really help with so i made another beat with this game in mind

Yee, when Joscpe talked about it being heavily drug related, and down to business. I imagined something like that. You do a line and the game gets all fast-paced with an high-tempo soundtrack, you take PCP and get some visual interference, colours and shit.
Weed could be a chill part where you don't really have tasks or missions to do, chill out lounge music, slow-paced gameplay, idk.
Since we'll be always on businness and having to deal with a bunch of shitty buyers and suppliers, the player should almost ever get the negative effects of any drug the main character use, like, disturbing hallucinations and/or delusions, severe anxiety, paranoia and, of course, psychotic episodes.
oh my god making the soundtrack for this is gonna be great
once all the drugs to be featured is decided upon, i'll task it upon myself to take each one and produce a song that reflects how the experience is
Ooooo yeeee I'm buying my new PC tomorrow - black friday bitcheeez - and will finally be able to work on my tunes, 3dmax, adobe cs6 and will have a more permanent library on my docs.
This game is sooo gonna happen, y'all.
