why do you have any basis for thinking this or is it just a mindless hunch
They keep name dropping her as well [sp]as the clairvoyant nor being cool of torturing Coulson to the point that she/he killed the person they broke out of jail to be a middle man for his/her orders[/sp].
[sp]They had to pump him with chemicals and do other such things to bring him back to life, I thought that was the painful part and the brain machine was to fuck with his memory wasn't it?[/sp]
The question is; why did Fury bring him back?
The thing is, the brain itself has no perception of pain, so he wouldn't actually feel anything.
Two things: [sp]First, the machine could have been stimulating whatever part of the brain registered pain along with whatever it was doing. Second, I thought the implication was that he had reached whatever afterlife there was in store for him, and he wanted to go back. I'm basing this off of the strange cosmic imagery they used. I don't know how the afterlife works in the Marvel universe, though.[/sp] [editline]11th January 2014[/editline] And what about what the x-ray eye lady said about Coulson that one time? I don't see how this fits in to that. [editline]11th January 2014[/editline] Also, say what you will about the show but I have to hand it to Clark Gregg. He's a pretty good actor.
The question is; why did Fury bring him back?
I imagine it was a combination of "he's such an excellent agent and we need him" and "I can't let Loki win like that"
I imagine it was a combination of "he's such an excellent agent and we need him" and "I can't let Loki win like that"
But to bring him back when he wanted to die?
But to bring him back when he wanted to die?
it was bringing him back that made him want to die, he was murdered
So, Mike is Deathlok now?
Oh, and what the heck happened to Graviton? I figured we would've seen him again by now.
Locked away in a S.H.I.E.L.D Vault never to be heard from again

good Episode last night. what do you think [sp] Skye's power is? I was thinking that the storm they created was actually Skye, kinda having powers to deal with the sky. She cries and a storm happens, and the machine was just a diversion [/sp]
I was thinking more of [sp]something to do with technology and the manipulation of technology[/sp]
I was thinking more of [sp]something to do with technology and the manipulation of technology[/sp]
That would make her achievements meaningless if all she can do is due to a power. Plus, there are basically no technopaths in the MCU anyway.
While this isn't directly related to the show, the new upcoming redesign of Ms. Marvel uncostumed seems to draw a lot from Sky... Your Thoughts?

Doesn't look like her, and as far as I know, the new Ms. Marvel is supposed to be Arabic.
Finally watched last Tuesday's episode, and [sp]I was surprised that we got Blizzard's origin story. Too bad he will probably be shoved away with Graviton until next season though.[/sp] Also, no new episodes until February.
Lady Sif will be appearing in an upcoming episode of Agents of SHIELD. This is probably the first actual connection to the movies the series will have (I don't count that episode that took place right after Thor 2 because it was only one scene and then it took off in a barely-related plotline).
well technically the whole series is directly connected to the movies, considering coulson is in every episode
And a spin-off isn't meant to be a televised version of the big screen anyway, it's a spin-off for a reason. A lot of the "ADD MORE MARVEL CHARACTERS" people really bug me because Coulson, the kind of guy these people love, is an original character. You cant really put much original character development into a 50 year old comic-book character, that would just really restrict the writers since they wont be able to do what they want because people on the internet want it to be MCU 1.5 or whatever
well technically the whole series is directly connected to the movies, considering coulson is in every episode
Well, yeah, that's true, but as a TV show, it doesn't usually lend itself to appearances by the movie characters. The closest we got before (aside from Coulson) was a cameo from Nick Fury. But now we have an episode that's going to fully feature another movie character. Yeah, a minor supporting character, but it'd be ridiculous to expect the big stars to guest star, but this is still a big deal for the show, and should hopefully keep those "add more superheroes" chucklefucks quiet for a while.

A whole episode on Norse mythos with an Asgardian is barely related to Thor?
Barely related? A whole episode on Norse mythos with an Asgardian is barely related to Thor?
Barely related to the movie. They have one scene where they're cleaning up after the climactic battle then they're off to go do shit with an asgardian artifact that wasn't featured in the movie. Hell, the artifact in question had no connection to any of the movies whatsoever, aside from the fact that it was asgardian.
But it's not meant to be the MCU. It just takes place in the same universe, but it's a completely separate thing. Were people in uproar when Superman: The Animated Series didn't feature any Batman characters?!

I was never complaining about the lack of MCU movie characters, I was just saying that this upcoming episode will be featuring the strongest connection to the movies in the show's history.

I actually thought that was a really good episode, easily one of the best so far. This show is beginning to come into its own.
