I freaked when I saw the water coming out of the lens hood.
500px - A challenger appears. "500px lets you create stunning professional photo portfolios, find friends, express yourself and connect with people like you." "Flickr has become a shoebox under the bed instead of the door of the refrigerator or workplace bulletin board." - TechCrunch Flickr is getting so polluted, and the design is much more streamlined. It's more expensive than flickrPro at $50 USD a year, though. A lot of the bigger names I follow on flickr are already on here. I'm even more convinced I need to make my own now :v:
Just saw someone buy a disposable digital camera :O
HOW DOES THAT EVEN WORK I DON'T I JUST what?
Was it a really shitty camera on a small flash drive? Still why would you dispose of it?

I don't see the point in spending all that money on the cables to hack such a cheap camera, phone cameras are probably far better.
on the topic of photo community sites, once I finish this client project I'll make a generic template and release it open source, what features would you guys like to see in a site that isn't done well, if at all?
Hey guys, need help. We have to do a 10 photo folio for uni based around the idea of transit. I want to represent the kind of feeling of street paranoia through mine - so that feeling you get say, in the middle of the night, no street lights about and you're alone and a person with a hoody walks past you and you think they might mug you but you don't know for sure, hence you get paranoid. Just representing the way you draw into yourself and try to protect yourself while you're in an unfamiliar environment. I've definitely bitten off more than I can chew - I don't know how to represent this. I have plans for a studio shot to either start or finish the piece of a person cowering in a corner bathed in a soft, cold or red or whatever light (will experiment), which would be a nice way of starting the folio, but i need more ideas! But I need more ideas because I've got hardly any idea how to do this. and its due in like 4 weeks. Also, the piece has to be coherent. A running metaphor would work nicely but I can't think of any. Any ideas? Just to help me get started? I've been thinking about this for ages and am having so much trouble.
I think having a really tight headshot of a guy walking on a street at night, and you can see a guy with a hoodie over his shoulder, then next shot over the hoodie guys' shoulder looking at the paranoid guy, etc. I'd come up with some sort of simple narrative and have that story ark go over the 10 images.

Will write it down and have a think. That doesn't close ideas from anyone else though :buddy:
Smoking weed. The transition of going from sober to high and getting paranoid afterwards :P
Smoking weed. The transition of going from sober to high and getting paranoid afterwards :P
I don't smoke weed :v:
I guessed. I was only kidding really.
Was it a really shitty camera on a small flash drive? Still why would you dispose of it?
because they generally use some sort of proprietary connector so that only the shop where you bought them can take the photos off. also you don't actually dispose of it, you bring it back to the shop, they take the photos off and don't give it back to you. then they just recycle them (as in sell them again with fresh batteries)
I guessed. I was only kidding really.
I am now going to take 10 photos of weed as per your suggestion
also, i got my zenit it's fucking badass
I'm at the entrance to an abandoned nuclear bunker, sadly, I don't have my flash or a respirator, as the bunker is lined with asbestos and was damaged by a fire.
I'm at the entrance to an abandoned nuclear bunker, sadly, I don't have my flash or a respirator, as the bunker is lined with asbestos and was damaged by a fire.
Get it and go back.
I'm like 20 miles from home.
Eat the asbestos, trust me I'm an expert.

Lads, it seems we might die today. Judgement day is upon us. For all those I have served with in this forum, it has been an honor. You guys were great. I never knew there could be so many honest and life-enjoying men in one forum, all living in harmony. I say to thee goodbye. We shall meet again on the other side. Goodbye lads [editline]21st May 2011[/editline] On the other hand, christians...
