Every few months, I take my whole Lightroom library and 'batch re-size' everything to 640x480 then put it all in a zip folder. After awhile I lose my attachment to those pictures and just delete the whole thing. Haven't had a problem needing anything back. I still have most of my decent ones - that I don't care for, but could later on - from more than a year ago on Flickr (private'd). The only files that I actually keep in an organized archive are music and movies. I hate would hate to lose those collections, everything else I can let go of.
Funny that. Your post made me look back to my photos from 1-2 years ago, the first ones where I really started photography as a proper hobby. Looking through some of these photos I'm thinking "damn, I don't even remember taking this". But the weird thing is, some of it is really good. I know that when I took it I didn't really know what I was doing, and the last thing I'd do is blow my own trumpet, but a shot I thought as mundane before isn't actually that bad. I doubt I could ever delete any of these photos.
Rolls of film waiting to be scanned (~250 negs): Fuck everything about this, I haven't even ordered a new scanner yet after the last one arrived broken.
~The joys of digital~
Just packing my photogear when I realized the height of my tripod legs without head is exactly the same width as my largest suitcase. Close call. I'm off to BC tomorrow morning, so I won't be here for ~2 weeks. Bye!
I don't know what/where BC is but have fun and shit.
I don't know what/where BC is but have fun and shit.
British Columbia?
British Columbia?
Wow ok I'm retarded.
Is it just me who takes pictures of the food they're eating when alone and bored in a restaurant? 1 hour until I take off, too.
Is it just me who takes pictures of the food they're eating when alone and bored in a restaurant? 1 hour until I take off, too.
I've never been to a restaurant alone, but I did do that a few times on holiday when I had my camera on me with other people around
Is it just me who takes pictures of the food they're eating when alone and bored in a restaurant? 1 hour until I take off, too.
Only if it looks like it could give me a foodgasm
Is it just me who takes pictures of the food they're eating when alone and bored in a restaurant? 1 hour until I take off, too.
Nope. I'll do it if I have my camera.
Is it just me who takes pictures of the food they're eating when alone and bored in a restaurant? 1 hour until I take off, too.
I like taking pictures of food since it helps boredom, welp again i end up walking next to people with a D3s, D3x, and a D2x. What's with cali and super good camera equipment? :v:
So today was a success. Went up to the yuba river and shot 2 rolls of film, went skinny dipping with my girlfriend, had a delicious dinner at her parents house (who like me, so it's cool), and came home. About to go to bed, I can't wait to see how these shots came out. Goodnight everyone!
can we have a rule that when sombody makes their 'x person photography' thread their OP must contait content, ie at least 5 ~500px wide photos? I'm seeing a lot of new threads pop up in the last week, which is cool, but if we get 5000 threads with no content this section will go to shit (just my thoughts)
Most of the 'x-person threads' are all talk and no show anyway.
Should I make one? I'm considering making one but I don't really know if I should.
Should I make one? I'm considering making one but I don't really know if I should.
I think if you have more than 10 photos that you personally consider to be good, go ahead. You're a regular here and people that have been here for 2 days are already posting threads...

Well known section members politely ask if they should make a thread about their own photos - and they'll always get a positive response. - See below. Those recent threads though (like 'Twitty's Photos', sorry to pick exactly you, it was just the first one) should be avoided. He says that he can't get thumbnails working but with a little research he could at least present us his photos instead of just linking to his blog/flickr. I know that people who come here looking for help rather create a new thread than posting in the off-topic thread .. .. but telling from the closed threads down the section we should encourage them to post here.
Should I make one? I'm considering making one but I don't really know if I should.
Yes, I'm quite sure you are not only going to present us your flickr/tumlr urls! €dit: Maybe we can get Dai to rename this thread to something more describing?
now hopefully these last 10 posts in this thread wont make us look like a bunch of elitist pricks. In other news and the photo [editline]16th August 2011[/editline] so exited to get this printed at 40cmx40cm 300dpi
God damn that's a good shot.

Saw a smudge on one of my lenses, tried to clean it off with a cloth. Made it worse. Breathed on it, tried wiping it down with a microfibre cloth, dust everywhere. Now the more I try to get dust off the more gets on it. And it doesn't help that the tiny hairs from the cloth look a little like scratches.

I found a cloth that worked well so I just used that, need to find a blower or something, I have a ring of dust in the crevice where the lens glass meets the plastic body of my Sigma 10-20.
