Girl asked me about ISO, shutter, aperture, depth of field and high key for her photography exam.
I showed her one of bopies photos for the depth of field and high key
get in there son
[editline]12th September 2011[/editline]
also bopie's aren't that high key are they?
naw, just "washed out"
That's why she's going to fail, they're not high key.
Trying to decide which lens to take with me to Spain tomorrow for fieldwork. Taking the 10-20 definitely, can only take one more. Considering the 50mm 1.8 incase I want to take some photos of the village at night, but the 18-55 kit has pretty good macro capabilities, and the 50-200 has the largest focal range.
[editline]12th September 2011[/editline]
Also I can take my DSLR with battery grip on the plane right?
it was his older, more high key stuff
she prolly failed anyway, they sent them to run around the school with a fleet of Canon PowerShots. She also thought a hotsure was on the bottom.

The only thing you'd have trouble with is 800 ISO film since it exposes with x-rays of the scanners. Everything else is perfectly fine.

Depends on where you come from. When i took my camera with me to the US I had to fill out some paperwork and provide the receipt because of taxes.
UK to Spain, so no issue. I just need to pick a lens asap.
Yes, finally starting to recover from being sick. Had(have) sinusitis and a throat-infection. Paired with a throbbing headache made my last week a living hell. Kinda.
But I'm starting to recover and I think I'm starting to get my taste back ;D
asdfghjkl so happy right now
Depends on where you come from. When i took my camera with me to the US I had to fill out some paperwork and provide the receipt because of taxes.
Took my DSLR to the US too, haven't had any troubles (or anything to fill out).
Starting to get mad at my ME Super. AND myself. So I solved the first problem (Wasn't pushing the advance lever all the way) and was able to release the shutter quite a few times then I set then opened the door (or something) and now the advance lever is loose again. But this time the shutter is open so I can see through the view finder. Any ideas?
bopie's aren't that high key are they?
You are correct.
Right now the high key stuff is still pretty good looking but somehow I already feel it getting annoying and overused, especially when I see friends on Facebook using some stupid app that slaps the exact same effect onto every photo.
You're thinking of something else entirely.
Some of you may already know this and I'm a little late to the discussion, but I want to put this out there for the record. High key refers to lighting, not necessarily exposure. We used the term improperly around here a few months ago to refer to over-exposure in general.
Simply put, high key is when a good portion the photo is whited out, because it's so bright. You see it a lot in advertising, where you want nothing else but pure white and the subject. It's not the same as just using a seamless white background either (example of NOT-but-could-be-mistaken-for-high-key), because in high key you position the lighting to get rid of shadows. You can do this without overexposing.
That's the gist of it.

We had a similar misconception about low key referring to darker, underexposed images. Low key is essentially the same as high key, except reversed. You are using black and minimal highlighting.

so this year I had tried to take a photography class, but the class was full and it would've taken up my last free period. but someone dropped from the AP level class so there's an extra 550D with my name on it.
(at my school most people have two free periods, and in order to have only one, you have to maintain an A average, and I have zero, so a few people think I'm insane but I'm so excited. [/runon])
got a call, was told I'd have a potential job for someone's wedding
after some rambling they told me that what they were looking for was to borrow a projector from me so they could play a slide-show of pictures they already have

Done a little digging around on my course today in the intranet. Starts off handy with workshops and passports to verify we can use an SLR, understanding DOF and things like that. Then we get to use this beast:

Internet's Most Talented Photogapher 3: Max Delgado is a hipster piece of shit and should have his camera rights taken away
Internet's Most Talented Photogapher 3: Max Delgado is a hipster piece of shit and should have his camera rights taken away
I didn't like his photo very much, but hipster piece of shit? say what!
That Russian chick is gonna win me thinks.
Anyone know how to try out an SD card? Apparently I got a U1 16GB but I want to see what write speed I can get in the camera. However I can't find the camera using H2TestW (utility to test USB disks and SD cards) but I can navigate it freely in Windows. Is that because of Canon's firmware/protection?

I had to give up the weed, cause of my mother.
Hm, saw a car accident today.
My friend who had first aid training, ran there and I saw cars stop to help them, so I just thought I shouldn't go there since I would've not been any help.
Kinda disappointed now that I didn't go and atleast see if I was needed :/
[editline]14th September 2011[/editline]
Would it be immorale to take photos of accidents?
I didn't have a camera but I tought about it, and made me think would it be just stupid or is it OK.
got that high key thong wrong. thanks for clearing that up
[editline]14th September 2011[/editline]
it's stupid and respectless. even journalists don't do tjat. at least the serious ones.
I reached my 2000th photo on my new camera a few days ago. I know it isn't much compare to you guys, but it's a nice high score for me.
Max Delgado, eh?

Mad that my ME super may already be broken. Might take it into the camera company and see what they can do. I need it for my first shoot this weekend.

Happened to me too bro, mine broke halfway through my second roll of film :(
It's tragic, but I ended up getting a DSLR a few weeks later which was probably for the best
