imagine per-pixel gain for digital cameras :P individual photosites adjusting their ISO, remove need for graduated neutral density filters or lessen the need for exposure stacking and HDR. would be cool with an ISO range of like 25-25600 hope to see more sensors with photosite coupling like used in EXR cameras
Oh fuck I am h---------- cameras holy shit why did you run out of battery 365
just performed a wedding ceremony for my friend jake and his wife kim, should have the pictures up as soon as i finish the roll!
Filters, any brands I should avoid like the plague, or any that I should try to find a deal for? Need a simple set for my TLR right now, hate not having at least a UV filter on them...
Avoid SunPak, they're cheap pieces of crap. Hoya's basic multi-coated is pretty good, I use them on both my lenses: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/652128-REG/Hoya_A52UVC_52mm_Ultraviolet_UV_0_Haze.html
What about B+W? For the sizes I need, Hoya doesn't have much of a selection I can find. I also know Tiffen is acceptable, as I have a lot of those...
Hoya should make something called "Multicoated" or "HMC" in all the usual sizes. I know B+W is supposed to be a good brand too, but the HMC is basically the best value - you're going to be paying a LOT for anything B+W, and frankly, the HMC are just as good.

Unlucky Cueball, should be fixable though/ I avoided near lens-death yesterday. I was heading home after a party blazed as fuck and after taking a photo or two, putting my camera away, I left the bag half open and the camera fell out 1 1/2 meters on to concrete when I was about to take the camera out again. My camera had my Sigma 30mm 1.4 on it at the time, luckily due to the lens being heavier than the body, it landed lens first onto the lens hood, and survived with no damage or scratches at all. [editline]2nd October 2011[/editline] I thought I was being a genius when I took this :v:
And that's why I never bring my camera, when I'm going to smoke or drink.
And that's why I never bring my camera, when I'm going to smoke or drink.
No mate. For me, the rewards of taking a camera when you're drinking and smoking far outweigh the possible risks. It's in those settings where (for me at least) I end up doing cool shit which creates opportunities for a nice photograph.
I know, I know. I usually regret not bringing it, but I can't afford to get it fixed, if I fuck up.
Got paid in monster energy Just putting it out there

Lens probably got wet and he took it into his warm house making the condensation form. Leave it somewhere warm for a few days and it'll be fine.
I went from 10 C outdoor temperature into an extremely humid, 30 degree greenhouse yesterday. Only the front element fogged up :v:
ahaha, all the internal glass fogged up. left my camera in a wet backpack all night
Awesome, a really hardy shutter. http://www.olegkikin.com/shutterlife/ The D3000 failed on average at 7,387 actuations, the D5000 at 477,868. Really shows how much a little upgrade can do.

*) The shutter in my 550D just failed (ERR20 every 2 or 3 pictures, at a shutter count of over 109.000).
Alex is the main Magic Lantern dev guy so I'm assuming 550D's are not bad.

The October issue of National Geographic is borderline porn, the photos in there are breathtaking. I love reading the issues but damn does their photography make me feel inadequate.
Is anyone here participating in project noah?
