Just thought I'd share my disappointment :
Flickr's community is full of shit.
I've recently joined a bunch of groups looking forward to receive criticism from people who think alike me, soon enough I found myself joining to around ~20 groups who give out awards to photos.
I thought to myself ''coolio, I'd get some awards and appreciation for my photography'', but these groups had this certain rule : Post 1 (photo), Award 5(photos). Which resulted in the members of the groups just spamming each other with copy-paste awards and increase their view count on their photos and get more comments.
/sigh.

my neighbor used to always tell me about it in like 2005, and yeah there were some cool people on it, but the majority of the site was a shithole (like pretty much any site on the internet)

Oh my god, best christmas ever! Got a Nikon D3100 with a free lesson on how to use it and a basic lens, along with a 8 gb SD card 133x speed 20mb/sec, I don't know how to judge SD cards at all beyond one post I remember saying something about numbers on them, mine has a 10 :v:
Plus I got three more rolls of Kodak Ultramax for my minolta, today is a good day.
A class 10 is the best AFAIK. Good for burst shots or recording HD video at a good framerate. Also means quick to transfer data off it too. Sounds like you got a good kit. Have fun with it!
Yeah thats what I remember, 4, 8, 10, and 10 being the best. Oh man I am so excited. However nothing will replace my Minolta <3 Something about film feels so much more pure, and the camera feels so much more solid
