Then two years ago I met him (again, neither of us remembered our communication on FP) through the HvZ forums, and found that we go to the same school. Then we met in person. Ok- so. My dad has been really dickish lately. I have my phone through him for about a year despite living with my mom. He lives across the country and I only see him several times a year. At one point during the school year- he was being pretty brutal with me about my grades (I wasn't even failing) and it got to the point of him just talking shit to me and degrading me. At this time- I had my phone through my mom. She decided the best course of action would be to block all texts to and from my dad until he simmered down and the drama passed. He was blocked for a total of 2 days before I went to my dad's house and bought me a new phone so I could contact him- and during this time, my mom decided I didn't need 2 phones, and disabled my phone from her- I gave it back and she sold it. Upon returning home, my dad decided to be spiteful and blocked my mom's calls for the past 8-10 months. Mind you- my mom is my custodial parent and primary caregiver. She has a phone that is really hard to text on and she has troubles reading, so calling is much easier. Recently, my dad disabled my phone and bricked it (iPhone) through Sprint and left me with no form of communication. (Mom works, no house phone). I decided that this was the final straw, and that I was switching back to my mom's plan. I didn't want my parent who left me and his wife to have any control over me. I talked to my mom and she decided to get me another phone on her plan- but in the mean time, this infuriated my dad because he now has to pay the $350 termination bill for my phone. I sent it back to him no questions asked. Now- I ask you guys, am I in the wrong? Should I have just accepted what happened and let things go on?

Sounds like your parents, your dad in particular, are using you to get at eachother. Also your dad sounds like a total asshole. Not sure why you should be getting a new phone every time you spend time with a different parent. Also 99.99% sure its's illegal for your dad to block your moms calls to your phone given she's your primary care giver.

I'd suggest you meet up with him, along with your mom and talk to him and find out why this is happening. No fighting or anything, just sit down and have a proper talk and come up with a solution. If he doesn't want to, make him. And if that doesn't work, well then fuck him and get him out of your life.

First day of university was a great success for me socially. I actually talked to a girl. And it was an actual real conversation. I'm so proud of myself and all of IFAP should be too.
